Spot on he's clueless. We got further in two tournaments in spite of him not because of him. The FA were never going to sack him as he's perfect for those idiots,for the same reasons they never employed Brian Clough. Anybody out there could pick eleven players out of this squad and get similar results. Tactically he hasn't got a clue. They should force him to work alongside Pep when he's not on England duty. That's how backward the FA are though they won't. The greatest manager in world football in your country and you don't use his knowledge to improve the England manager.
 
It didn't take him long to realise if he jacked the England job in his immediate options for getting into top line football management would be nonexistent..

He has proved once again that he cannot manage, organise, motivate or inspire top end players to achieve results when it really matters.

He's a million miles away from managing any of the top end PL clubs..

Being rewarded for failing one again..

I don't see him lasting them 2 years, it will go down hill fast in the games coming up if the last nations league are to go by, also if he keeps picking Slabhead and Shaw and small arms for keeper
 
I’m going to try and be measured now. I’ve said my piece of Southgate’s England and their shortcomings.

Is there an analogy to be drawn here with Pep and City and the Champions League? That you can’t hire a guy with the objective of winning what’s effectively a knockout competition, when there’s so much jeopardy, penalty-shoot-out lotteries, and not even levelled out by home and away legs? If the World Cup was decided by the 20 top-ranked teams playing each other home and away, and the most points takes the title, I’d suggest that Luis Enrique’s Spain would smash it every time, because they way his team played is set up to beat most teams most times. One day you’ll run into an inspired Morocco, and go out in penalties, or lose against Japan with 80%+ possession. In a 38-game season you can live with that. Pep’s City does. For Japan read Brentford at home.

In a World Cup finals competition, that might work, but might not. You need inspiration. LE’s Spain didn’t have it. And inspiration and Southgate have never been used in the same sentence, until this one.
 
Christmas has come early for Southgate, another 2 years of dire insipid football, beating who we should and getting beat by any half decent side
Talented young players being ignored or played out of position, I reckon there's champagne being popped in the Henderson, Shaw, Rice, Kane, Mount, Maguire, Rashford and Trippier households as we speak, knowing there good for at least one more tournament, joke of a decision.
 
The FA are spineless wankers and it’s depressing news he is staying around to stink the place out. By 2024 the top European sides - notably Spain, will have moved on and will be better teams while the droog waistcoat plods along getting the plaudits for thrashing the San Marino’s and getting a creditable 0 - 0 in a Rome or such like qualifier.

A blind man can get a Pub team to qualify these days it is that easy, getting out of a 4 team group with 2 shit teams in it isn't much harder either.

Look at Croatia for example, their recent record shits all over England yet they have 1 World Class Player. Difference is they play him whereas fuckin Southgate goes to great lengths to keep talented players out of the team unless they tick a box.
