FA Cup | 3rd Round | 9-14 Jan '25

Idris Elba’s idea a few years ago. It’s called ‘No More Red’ (as in blood)… an anti-knife crime initiative.

I’d be behind that name of an initiative for City n’all… but only so we never have red in any of our kits ever again.
Unfortunately it’s not working.

He's offside but there is an argument that Maguire has deliberately played the ball, I hate that version of the offside law though.
I don't think so, it just deflects from him.

our old red and black kit from the 60'/70's was a belter - we won the FA Cup in that
We won the ECWC and League Cup in it n’all. Doesn’t mean it’s a good kit, I hate seeing City in United’s colours. Should never have been sanctioned.

It's that kit that got me following City !! First football team I played for had that kit , badge centre of chest and once I found out who played in that kit well that's me a lifelong City fan .

Yes it’s dogshit. The defender wouldn’t try to play it if havertz wasn’t where he was so he is interfering with play from an offside position. Needs fixing

I mean the ball is intentionally passed to havertz. How isnt that interfering?

Yes, if a defender intentionally plays the ball, then it isn't offside:

  • Deliberate play
A player in an offside position is not considered to have gained an advantage if they receive the ball from an opponent who deliberately played the ball. This includes deliberate handball.

Yeah one of those that could be interpreted either way. Personally I err on he was offside as I’d interpret Maguire as a movement that achieved limited contact/control.
