FA cup 4th Round draw Middlesbrough at home

Obviously not the perfect opponent we were calling for, but we are at home and that is pretty much the main preference.

I remember December 1977 at Ayresome Park when we won 2-0. Colin Bell started his first game after his long injury. The game came straight after we beat Newcastle 4-0 with the King coming on at halftime. Together with Stoke and Wolverhampton the most dump place I've ever been.

Anyone know what day it will be or when announced?

Doesn't seem like we'dd be on TV but then there are 5 ties to be shown on TV and we weren't picked last round so maybe BT Sport might pick us as their 2nd or 3rd choice.

If not on TV, then 24th Jan Sat 3pm ...

Guess TV companies won't pick their ties till all 3rd round ties are played.

You can guarantee that the rags will be on telly again. Possibly Chelsea vs. Millwall. We might get a shout to be on TV, but I doubt it.

I love how you all refer to the Boro as Neanderthals judging us from games in the 70's and 80's where such behaviour was commonplace.

How about this one from your lot as recent as 2008?

Small pockets of fighting broke out between City supporters and stewards at the end of the match, with some seats being ripped out and thrown on to the pitch. However, a strong police presence, which included dog handlers, soon quelled the violence.

Nonsense aside, it should be a good game. I'd expect City to win but it to be a tight game (1-0, 2-1?).

That problem was caused by some City fans partying in the walkway at the front of the stand as we do when getting hammered, Elano scored and a guy probably in his 60's was caught up in the mock hysterical celebration resulting in him ending up on the other side of the hoardings and being hit by the cops with batons, other blues tried to go and help him and were also hit resulting in some nasty stuff.

It must be said the police were arses all game, dogs everywhere and almost after some bother.

in the past Bro' fans have been up with some of the worst about but my last 2 trips there the 8-1 and the 1-0 F A Cup win were pleasant experiences unlike the foggy League Cup game which was proper nawty.

I was at the foggy game,a fcuking square dance(see Alien movies) compared to the 2 -2 1980 game when Bosco Jankovic scored a late equaliser for them.

I went up about 2006 for a Monday night game where we lost 3 -2 and me and my mate walked into a pub, ordered a drink, turned round and found we were in a boozer full of guys with "cut here" on their necks.Ill be honest,it was shit your pants time but the Boro lads were brilliant. Most were on banning orders and the pub was as close as they could get to the ground to watch on TV.

A question for the Boro lads...we ate London Pizzas that night,Pizzas with chips on them, where does that idea come from?

My first City game. My uncle took me as a Christmas present.

I always liked the kit description in the programme in the late '70s. Shirt was "red with a two inch white hoop across the chest" - is that now 50.8mm or has decimalisation again taken its toll?...

We have had some luck with home draws these last few years.

Hopefully, Silva and Nasri will start this one!

That's the back end of the week of the little jolly in Abu Dhabi though isn't it? I can see another half arsed first half followed by realisation of what is at stake around 60 mins and then all guns blazing. Seems to be the story of our FA cup exploits in the last year.

"d meet a father and son combo who owned a nightclub in Boro in Ibiza, in, I would guess, 2004. Interesting pair. Think they both had the same forename. I remember John Digweed had just finished his set, for some unfathomable reason. It's funny the things you remember."

It wasn't Barry Faulkner and his son Barry Faulkner Junior was it? They own The Empire in Boro and would have spent a lot of time in Ibiza through the years, proper characters!
That's right they were called Barry! The Empire is definitely ringing a bell too. What a pair of fucking lunatics. Good lads they were. I think it's fair to say they've lived a bit ;-)
