My point is that yes, you do get random runs which might seem strange but which are not. But if these runs get too long, it starts to look fishy.

No, there's a 1 in a 1000 chance of that happening, but since there's loads of clubs and draws have been happening for 100 years, a single club getting a 10-run sequence like that is actually quite likely.

The chance of that happening to one specific club in one specific time window, is very unlikely. 1024/1 to be exact.

Might be Monday, but won't be before Sunday. The Utd-Hull match is on a Thursday - presumably because Hull are playing on the Sunday before, ruling out the Tuesday, and teams don't lay on both Wednesdays in the LC semifinal.

No, we didn't get a home draw, but it's not a coincidence. It's the way things are given chance and probability.

Look through the records of our FA Cup draws over the years, and I'll guarantee, without looking at them, we have more or less 50:50 home and away ties.

It's a random draw. Yes, it's disappointing we have another away game, but we could well have a run of 6 or 7 home draws following this.

But we are not talking about "over the years" we are talking about much more recent times, when we became a major nuisance to the most powerful clubs in the country

That's what I said. But if you toss a coin 100 times, there's roughly a 1/10 chance you'd get 10 in a row somewhere along the way. (1/11.38 to be exact)
