FA Cup 4th round draw - Palace (a)

You have missed my point(or you are a sarcastic prick) I meant the others get to rest players for premiership games whilst we have to play fairly strong teams with a threadbare squad beset by injuries and suspensions.

I was certainly being sarcastic, glad you picked that up.
So now we have a threadbare squad beset with injuries and suspensions. Is that a joke

The fact that you and many others are getting their knickers in a twist because we have to play Palace or Bolton away is completely ridiculous.

Personally I think it's a great draw for City. Palace made a lot of changes for their game vs Bolton and I can't see them doing anything different against City (should they get that far). They were the worst performing team in England in 2016 and don't look like improving much, either. They're in the midst of a relegation battle and Allardyce won't want/need the FA cup as a distraction from the league, especially when he could use the time to drill his defence. Compare that to a Championship/League 1 or 2 team who might have seen City as the biggest game of their season and moved heaven and earth to frustrate us. Aside from it being away, I think it's a great tie.

If it's Palace I will do the same like the League game,St Pancras to London Bridge (tube) have a few beers next to the Borough market then the train to Norwood junction from London Bridge,10 minutes walk to Selhurst park.

And that's the point people are missing, it isn't just that it's a tough draw that OK paper we still have s good chance of winning. It's a game that doesn't afford us the chance to rest players when we have to work play West Ham away a few days later.

These are exactly the type of games we should be resting players. Do you seriously think Crystal Palace will be interested in this when they are balls deep in a relegation fight and with Allardyce as manager who has form for weakened sides. We don't have to play our strongest side all the time. I thought Aguero and Silva should have been off at half time the other night. We weren't going to lose from 3-0 up. Sunderland away last year we were 4-0 up and Pellegrini hardly made a change til late on and Newcastle at home in the league cup was the worst. Playing a youth team almost, we got beat and Silva was Crocked. If Bolton win at Palace then we have drawn a div 1 side or won't that count as it went to a replay.

The other sides have been fortunate more than us being unfortunate.

There are only 5 games that I would be worried about and they are the other top 6 away as we would have to play a strong side to win those.

Just to play devils advocate for a change. Between 2003/04 and 2013/14 the rags played 76 domestic cup ties (including finals) and the opposition they played were as follows: Premier league and championship 68 (the split was 54 PL). None PL and championship ties numbered 8.
I found this on the 'internet, as they had a page bemoaning how all the cup draws were fixed to make it more difficult for them to win anything. Funny old game......
What year did David Gill take up his position with the FA?
