FA Cup 4th Round Draw | Tottenham (A) | Fri 26th Jan, 20:00

I see South Korea are playing on the 25th Jan so assume Son will be absent........alternatively South Korea don't make knock out rounds and our game get moves to a Monday night so Son can travel back and play!

That's what I meant, really. But I took it that the post also meant that you didn't have to have accumulated loads and loads of points.
quite. I am a Cityzen member who attends ~10 home games a season across all competitions, so obviously not loads of points. Got my fingers crossed, got very lucky with the draw as i'm staying at a mates' house that weekend only 3km from the ground, by chance.

Our FA Cup record against spurs is five wins, three draws and six defeats so it's not the nightmare fixture many are talking about. I'm guessing 1981 and 1993 have some impact on that as well as our failure to score in five visits to their new ground.
But remember the last FA Cup tie against them.

If you take it in the last five years, it's not great. If you take our record against them since about 2011, we've absolutely leathered them on a number of occasions (2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons, to mention just them). The exit from the CL at their hands was us fucking up (Sergio's missed penalty) and a heartbreaking decision of offside in the second leg (which was so minimal that it would never have been given before the onset of VAR) — in both matches, I consider that we outplayed them. I also consider that we outplayed them in this year's fixture, incidentally.
Man for man, across the pitch, we are better than that Tottenham team in every single position, with the single arguable exception of Son, who I consider to be a hell of a player and always has been. (I'd rather have had Son than Kane at the Etihad, if it comes to it).

We will do them.

Really hope you get a ticket, and be there to see us win, and dispel this superstition about grounds we can't win at, and teams we can't beat.
We can't win at Anfield, because, well, almost no-one wins at Anfield in my lifetime. It's not a hex. They're just rather bloody good on their own turf, and sometimes you just have to hold up your hands. Incidentally — on our day, if everyone turns up, we can beat anyone, anywhere, on earth.

I'm sure it's already been asked, but does anyone know when date/kick off time will be confirmed for this?

Of course it was tense; that’s sort of the point.

When I was watching turgid, tedious shite churned out on a weekly basis under Pearce I dreamed of being involved in games that mattered every week. Games where the football was quality and the stakes were high.

And that’s what we’ve had for much of the last dozen years or so.

For me, being involved in games like that, sometimes twice a week, are the pinnacle of being a football supporter- and I’m sure supporters of most other clubs would scoff at the suggestion that it was in any way unenjoyable or a chore.

For me, the risk of failure in situations like that is part of the thrill.

Oh come on, gdm, you must look back fondly on the dogshit you got all over your shoes in the alleys leading up to Maine Rd… That, at least?

Edit: and the gnat's piss masquerading as tea at half-time at the bottom of the Kippax steps?

It will be 27th or 28th,we both play league games 31st.
Could even be 25th or 26th or are those dates definitely out? Just thinking the 3rd round started on the Thursday and Friday nights and both teams play 13th/14th before the winter break.
