FA Cup 5th Round Draw 2019 - Newport (a)

Is the market still going?

Yeah, although not like the days gone past when I used to live there. Quite sad to see how it has become compared to years and years ago. Still has the best muffins and creamy Lancashire though :)

Anyone thinking of staying over I suggest choosing your digs carefully. There are a couple of B&Bs on Chepstow Road that I ended up in after booking online. I've seen cleaner dog Kennels. I can't remember the name of them though. Newport isn't the best place but there's a few decent pubs there and the locals are friendly enough.

...or stay in Cardiff - it’s only 15 mins away by train with direct services every 10-15 mins or so.

I know mate, stayed in Cardiff several times in a good B&B opposite the millennium stadium. I won't be going to the game though, was just warning any blues going to book digs carefully considering there are a few hovels in the city.

Stayed over a few times in Newport. I have a few work mates from there. Some dodgy boozers I've drank in. The Greyhound, Potters and the scrum to name a few. Cracking curry house though not far from the ground called Vanilla Spice. Everyone there seems to be Liverpool fans. Dodgy council estate there with a perimeter fence covering the whole estate, obviously to keep the inbreds in one place.

I used to drink in the Greyhound, the Wetherspoons on Cambrian Way (opp station), The Lamb, and Queens Hotel/Walkabout.

The council estate you’re referring to must be Ringland?
