FA Cup 5th Round Draw 2019 - Newport (a)

How hard is it to choose 7 ties out of 8 for TV ... announce it already!

Given we have the full week off after Chelsea on Sunday ... we'd probably gladly take a Friday night game (we as in club, Pep and the team ... not so much the fans) ... given we have Champions League Away game in mid-week after (on Wed) ... so definitely not Sunday please as we could be travelling/training that day.
Boro have a game scheduled for the previous Wednesday, I think. Reckon we'll get the Sat teatime or evening slot if they're doing those this round.

If we are playing Boro that is ;)
Maybe they are waiting for replays as well ... as if it's Newport, BBC can show on BBC Wales as an extra game so 7+1, meaning all 8 ties could be on TV.

Manchester City’s FA Cup fifth-round match against either Newport County or Middlesbrough has been selected by BT for live television coverage.

The game will take place on Saturday 16th February, with kick off at 5.30pm.

League 2 side Newport earned a fine draw at Middlesbrough in the last round, and those two will now play a replay on Tuesday 5 February to determine who we face.

City made it to the fifth round of this season’s competition thanks to a 5-0 win over Burnleyin the fourth round.

Yeah. Friday night would have been perfect if we knew it was going to be Newport. Happy with Sat tea time, though.

Here's all the TV ties ...

Manchester United's FA Cup fifth-round tie at holders Chelsea - a repeat of the 2018 final - will be live on BBC One on Monday, 18 February (19:30 GMT).

It is one of two games being broadcast on the BBC that weekend, with League One Doncaster Rovers' home tie with Premier League Crystal Palace (Sunday, 16:00 GMT) also live.

You can watch the fourth-round replay between West Brom and Brighton on BBC One on Wednesday, 6 February.

The winners are at home to Derby.

Meanwhile, BT Sport will show four ties live over the weekend.

On Friday, 15 February they will screen the tie between Portsmouth or Queens Park Rangers against Watford at 19:45.

Brighton & Hove Albion or West Bromwich Albion against Derby (12:30) and Middlesbrough or Newport County against Manchester City (17:30) will be shown on Saturday, 16 February.

On Sunday, 17 February the tie between Bristol City against Shrewsbury Town or Wolverhampton Wanderers (13:00) will also be screened by BT Sport.

A mate of mine who is a Season Ticket holder at Boro tells me they have only been allocated 960 tickets for the replay. I do hope Newport get through, but 960 tickets won’t go far with our following !

When Spurs played them they received the following:
Newport County v Spurs
Emirates FA Cup, fourth round
Saturday 27 January
Kick-off: 5.30pm
Allocation: 1,640 incl. uncovered, unreserved seating

Prices:
Adults: Up to £30
Seniors (Over 60): Up to £25
16-21: Up to £23
Under-16: Up to £15
Under-12: Up to £12
Under-6: Up to £7
I suspect it's more about it being midweek and the journey from Boro is about 270 miles hence the reduced allocation being taken. If we play Newport I hope we would receive the same as Spurs did, if it's Boro then no reason not to allocate us the full 15% which is about 5k

Ah - right, I hadn’t factored in the mid week issue & the greatly increased distance. I did think 960 was a bit low, but he assured me that’s all they were allocated.

Middlesbrough sent 500 (or was it 50?). So maybe that’s all they asked for?

you get 960 for league games.
boro received 960 and sent half of them back.
However spuds got 1600 last year..so let's hope we get same
