FA Cup Final - 18/05 1700hrs

Slightly confused, how have they bought the tickets for £19 and who has the money? Due to being 200 miles away from Wembley it would be hard for us to do. I guess not entering the stadium until after the game kicks off, or everyone going onto the concourse and emptying our end while they do that shaking hands with unheard of dignitaries and just leaving the banner there, then returning for the kick off would have a big impact.

You don't have to do the exact same thing, it was pointing out fans taking collective direct action at overcharging and piss taking fom the governing body.

Both germany and spain have kyboshed monday night football with direct action.

Sadly fans over here would rather slag each other off in general and the fans groups that should be leading this, the top clubs ones are mainly a shower of knobs more i terested in belittling opposition fans.

The prices for some seats are terrible, but the fact this will sell out tells it's own tale. If it's hurting people that much, protest by not paying it and don't go. It will not make you any less of a fan.
It will hurt the club if we aren't there to support the side. That's the problem with boycotts. You hurt yourself and miss out on a once in a lifetime occasion and the club loses out as well. We can make our point at the game. We should definitely do something

Problem with a banner is that it might not be allowed in, but I think we could all easily take an A1/A2 paper in with us with a symbol. Or a small number could lay them out at one end behind the goal. Photocopy on super large paper a Pound Symbol then hold them up. Even throw them on the pitch at a designated time to hold up play.

In a way if we don't protest then they'll charge this again at the next Cup Final, and the game will be up. Once people stop going that will be it.

Tjat is my point a boycott would need to ne co-ordinated between both fan bases and show solidarity, unfprtunately english fan culture is way off that sort of attitude, watford fans are not gonna give up seeing their first cup final for decades.

Small steps, starting with a concentrated campaign to boycott monday night footbal both home and away fans next year, then progress onto cup games etc.

No I get that I was just interested how they did it.

You are correct, there is no unity between fans in this country. At a time it is easier than ever to unify due to the internet we are more divided than ever. This is due to trolls who whip up hatred and hysteria and post claptrap about empty seats and other rubbish. Even better most of them doing so have never attended a game in their lives and many reside abroad.

With the cup final they hike the price as they know most clubs fans will pay it as for many it is a one off event, or one they do rarely. It is a treat. The problem comes when a club dominates like we have recently and appear there often.

Short notice now and on the whole fans won't boycott games out of loyalty and not wanting to miss out on the occasion. We even sold 20,000+ tickets for the semi final everyone was annoyed about and got derided for it instead of understanding.

We can make a very visible protest as I said by everyone filing out onto the concourse at about 16:40 when the teams come out and line up to shake hands with FA bigwigs and some distant member of the royal family. It will be picked up worldwide. Everyone can go back in just before kick off so no one misses any of the match, the team get our support and this way no one misses the day out.
