FA Cup Final - Post Match Thread

It was a stupid, baseless question but not without purpose as far as the relentless campaign to undermine and devalue our achievements is concerned. It was actually an accusation and a smear presented as a question. By asking it, the journalist in one fell swoop put into the heads of anyone listening, the scenario whereby Pep was nothing but a money grabbing mercenary and the City heirarchy were using corrupt and underhand methods to circumvent FFP and gain an unfair advantage, at a time when we are already subject to a witch hunt by UEFA and the cartel clubs.
And then people say there is no agenda.

very clever question indeed. loaded as hell.
Pep was correct not dignify it, but by not directly denying it opens him up to speculation that will give the agenda fuel.

Just watched highlights on Bein sports. Why did Pep look so down in the last 10-15 minutes? He had a right face on him. Does any body know owt ??

My take was that to jump around celebrating goals once the game was won would have been rubbing the opposition noses in it. I thought his understated reaction was respectful.

I'd agree with that. If you can catch the BBC highlights, there's a shot of Vinnie talking to Deeney during the game, and you can see Vinnie saying "harsh". Most of the players and management seem to be, to quote Tim nice but dim, bloody good blokes, actually.

Cant believe that the media ar suggesting that we should have let up at 4 - 0 as we unnecessarily embarrassed Watford, I cant believe the bad press we receive for what ever we achieve, the media are just s set of jealous morons who are not fit for purpose in my humble opinion!
Has that seriously happened wtf

So you don’t think Jesus justified his start?

Mahrez played well first half, and pretty obvious that Pep didn’t think Kev is fit enough to start, hence how immense he was when brought on after Watford had tired.

Pep masterclass if you ask me.
I absolutely think Jesus justified his selction but hindsight and a 6 nil win thats great, however if we were to start that game,or any game we want to win,we start Aguero, any manager in the world would....except Pep.
I also thought Marhez did "ok" untill you see the difference once KDB came on.
I always say and always will say you start your best 11.

Back at work, Monday morning, no football for about 3 months and we got spanked 6-0. I am properly miserable!!
Well done to City, absolutely incredible team. I know having lots of money helps but you still have to make a team out of it. We had to take what few chance we were going to get and Pereyra missing that golden opportunity at 0-0 was disastrous. Don't know about the penalty claim as can't bring myself to watch it back and suspect I never will. Sterling and De Bruyne were just completely unplayable. I did think that defensively we were poor especially for De Bruyne's goal which killed the game
I'm so very pleased that Gracia was as normal, very gracious in defeat.
Having seen quite a lot of issues at the Wolves Semi Final I was very happy to see both sets of fans behaving and thought both were brilliant during the game. I was especially proud how we just kept going even at 5-0.
I can't say it was enjoyable obviously but take the football away, I had quite a good day
Well done and thanks for entertaining me on your forum which I have to say is one of the better ones I've been on.
See you next season

Your fans were class. Stayed until the end and put on an impressive display with the flags, in recognition of your team getting to the final, which is no mean feat.

I thought you played well, actually, and if you had scored early in the second half could have made for an interesting situation. Your manager seems a decent chap.
