Just realised quite a few PL teams have been knocked out of this competition. Well at least the bottles can be dumped in the scrap heap.

It needs a lot of things, but one of them is an injection of cash for prize winnings. It needs to be a competition that teams want (perhaps even need) to win from a financial perspective.

It won’t be able to compete with the CL, or even league promotion, of course, but it could be a substantially more attractive competition.

The issue will be how to procure such funding. Without it—and a few other sensible reforms—it will continue diminish in standing, as it has for years now.

Yeah, that is what I was implying earlier. They are prioritising the CL, both this year and qualification for next year. They have to have it to retain their current talent (and attract new players) based on their lower wage structure. Without it Spurs are a house of cards.
