FA Cup Games 27/28 Jan & 6/7 Feb replays

Well, no. I'm against it's implementation at the moment because VAR is not the next step to removing mistakes from officials.

Actually making them accountable for their mistakes is what has to happen; as ludicrous as that is to have to say as it's not currently what happens.

Referees don't need more help, they don't need more training, more respect. They're wrapped in untold layers of cotton wool at the moment and this is just a lazy excuse to give them not only more of the limelight in games but yet another "safety net".

If an official's job the following week was at stake each match, their match fee/wage, they'd give a few more fucks as to how they went about things. If they acknowledged that fans don't pay to watch them, they'd stop putting themselves in the headlines. If they communicated with the players and were held accountable to them instead of shushing and ignoring them, they'd produce better informed decisions.

Referees are there to facilitate a game of football, not dictate it.

VAR at the moment, with the standard of refereeing in this league, is the equivalent of McDonald's offering a delivery service. It makes things easier for some people but doesn't help them better themselves.

Yes, referees are shit.

Listening to players is the last thing that needs to happen. Shrek used to tell the ref what needed to happen. We need players speaking less to the ref.

Video technology will never be perfect but once they iron out issues it will be better.

I will be mad if it's used in our games and we get a bad decision

I don't agree. If we have the technology use it to get the correct decisions. Like they do in every other sport. That should be the overriding factor. I agree it's too slow and the guy in front of the monitor should be empowered to make a quick decision, without this bullshit of the ref going to a monitor.

They can't.

It takes this long irrespective.

THAT just now is a var decision. If the ref had given a goal.
Not the marginal ones.

4 minutes is too long. 2 is about right.

Football fans are going to have to change their mentality for this to work.

There will always be a wait. Just like rugby.

I have absolutely no fucking issue with that so long as it gets rid of the shite comical decisions.

good fucking luck with that one.

Correct. if it's not obvious from a quick viewing, the decision on the pitch should stand.

If they need 3 mins to review it, then it's not an obvious mistake.

So we have the technology to know exactly what the decision should be. But if it's tight call and wrong we let it go? Each to their own but that is bizarre to me

Shirt pulling doesn't constitute what I understand as contact.

If VAR stops It, and it will, then fucking great.

You mean if defenders think they won't get away with it, or their coaches think that? Yes, it'll be a thing of the past.

It should only really come into affect if it actually effects the ball reaching the player. Personally I don’t want to see non serious fouls that have no chance of affecting the end result being given as penalty’s.
