You know not being knee jerk here but we spent a decent wedge getting Philips from Leeds surely young Tommy could have filled that position instead..

Definitely knee jerk. It was clear from his cameo appearances for us he didn't really fit and wasn't ready to play for us, he needed games regularly, he's getting them and its showing that was indeed the correct decision.

Course he doesn’t. I wouldn’t know whether random players from the 60s from other clubs were alive or dead, it’s not exactly crime of the century that Tyldsley has failed to remember about Pardoe and Doyle.

Yeah but he may not have researched the condition of Mike and Glyn, he may just be aware of Doyle's lineage which I think most people in football know of.

He's not trying to be offensive with the comment in my opinion, just building the story around Tommy.
