For me, how we start the match is more of a worry than how tired the players are at the end. Tired players take longer to get going, to shake of the muscle stiffness, as we saw in the first half against Liverpool two years ago. We will need at least a few fresh players to give us some impetus in the first halfWe've got a squad loaded with experience. Players who will not let a penalty shootout loss affect them. As fans we're over it pretty quick, we won it last year and we were the better side. Focus on what we can do, not what's happened.
Win tomorrow and the mood all changes. 6 league games to go for history.
We need to balance those completely fucked from Wednesday with a team that can get the job done. 8 games left this season and then you can all rest...after the Euro's of course! But that's the message.
Brighton is on Thursday so plenty of rest before then and midweek breaks to come now too.
De Bruyne and Haaland aside I think the rest will be fine to start. A few might need to come off earlier, but they'll want to go out there and get the job done.
It's quarter past, not half past, when we kick off. Thanks
Sorry Kaz it’s 5-15pm as everyone as said :)Thanks
We can make a stew with some of that, yeh?Yes, we sold all our "allotment" and 6 bags of carrots, 3 kilo of spuds and a tray of runner beans.
Thats how we need to play this game. Similar to how we played against Arsenal. Nice and tight but with the knowledge that Chelsea’s defence is not as good as Arsenal’s so we should get the chances we need to win. If we play too open they will score goals against us.Just shut down their counterattack, and they are nothing as a team.
