FA Cup Semi Final draw - Brighton

Mansfield, Lincoln (home and away League Cup), Bury, Stockport, Tranmere, York City - that took me 10 seconds to remember some of our low points I have probably blocked off many others from my mind. And now we are at a Semi Final of the FA Cup. The one thing I hated more than anything of United fans over the years was what I perceived as the sheer arrogance of the fans in terms of their expectation to win things and sneering at "that isn't a big game for us". Seeing those same traits here with some people. No money, physical reason why you can't get there etc. - understandable and valid reasons for not going. But.. Don't consider it a big game? You probably don't know who some of those teams were in the first sentence as you probably supported a different successful club 20 years ago. For those that think its a big game - because its Wembley and a Semi Final of the FA CUP then - see you at Wembley and probably see you at Hartlepool, Salford, Yeovil, Morecambe and whoever else we may be playing in 20 years if it all goes pear shaped again

Just looked on the Brighton forum they have about 300 £80 and 600 upstairs cheap seats to shift. So no demand from them for the upper blocks we haven't bothered selling then.

Some good stuff and some real tosh being posted on this thread. No one should have to come on here and justify why they're not going. But when you do , don't talk rubbish. "Shit ko time because of the tv, so I won't go and I'll watch it on tv"-how ironic. "Can't spend a weekend away from the family"- that will change for a few should we get to the final. " Been to all the games since 1894 you know" - sorry for not being as old as you. If you can't afford it or don't want to go fair play that's the way it goes. I don't give a shit what other fans think but I hate seeing swathes of empy seats for our games, and by all accounts this one could be grim. Anyway for all those going have a great day, for those that aren't enjoy it on tv or whatever else you've got planned.

I remember Queuing around level one to get tickets for the semi final against united, we had 3 season tickets, and managed to get 3 tkts, but for the final against stoke we could only get two, how times have changed.

I think this is an illustration of how the magic of Wembley has been dissipated by playing Semi Finals there, we've been to a final already, people assuming we'll get through and waiting for the final, be interesting to see how many that are jibbing this will moan about the allocation for the final if they miss out.

On the positive side it's a great opportunity for fans who aren't season ticket holders to get to Wembley.

I think you misunderstood the point that was being made. Every game this season is now massive. For Brighton, this is their game that they have been waiting for. We have huge games twice a week, all as big as the next.

BREAKING NEWS:.. City have sold 17 tickets in the last hour.. we'll bring you more details on this story when it emerges. Back to the Ole for President story now. Seriously though, does anybody want to chat about the game ??? Who'll play where ? What formation? What of Brightons current form? ?etc etc

I made a choice.

Not going.

Went to Fulham on Saturday, and picked Spurs away in the CL over the semi-final.

That aside, I hate the FA, and I hate Wembley.

They FA have forced fans to go to the semi-finals at Wembley so they could rake in more money to pay off the Wembley construction costs, and rake in additional money when Wembley is paid off. The FA have aren’t bothered about the fans who follow teams in the North and the Midlands. If you support a London or Southern team, Wembley is great. There is no reasons why Northern teams can’t play semi finals at either Old Trafford or the Etihad. 33,000 or 27,000 tickets each.

As for Wembley. It’s sterile, plastic, everything is orchestrated, it’s become the bastion of modern football, run by executives who put money, spectacle, H&S rules and regulations, etc, before football fans. The whole experience of the day at Wembley, before and after the final whistle, is shite.

And let’s not forget. If City reach the FA Cup Final the FA will automatically reduce the ticket allocation, and the ticket prices will rocket.

The FA are.......
