FA Cup Semi Final draw - Brighton

A lot of Brighton fans pre match were proper wankers..giving it the where were you when you were shit line .
The ones we met before and after the match were fine. One came up to me in the bar and said; "Well done. Make sure you beat the scousers." No doubt there were a few dickheads but on the whole their support was good.

Ones I met were decent enough - but to be fair they were families mostly

Don't get me wrong I'm not pretending any set of fans are all brilliant lovable people, just seeing ours still heading in a direction I never thought I would

Yes and i walked to Wembley Central after game through their end, there was loads of their fans either looking for trouble or trying to goad their own fans to get stuck in to the 'Dirty Northern Bastards'.

Yet according to some on their forum, our fans are bitter, ungrateful twats, who have forgotten where we’ve come from, and are shit to boot. The main reason for this view? Yep, the post match thread on here! Fucking hell, judging a whole fanbase by a few comments online. Post-match threads on most forums tend to be a law unto themselves and it’s the reason why I don’t bother with them.

Reading some of those comments of theirs makes me feel like I was at a totally different game in London yesterday. Before the match we went in The Globe on Baker Street which was rammed with Brighton fans and had a right laugh with them. Before that we got talking to a few in a cafe near Euston. No edginess at all throughout the day. As such, I’m surprised to hear of some of them playing up to that extent. Granted, we’ve all got our fair share of knobhead fans but that sounds reminiscent of the behaviour of some of the Pompey fans last week against Sunderland.

Loads heading back to Wembley Park after the game - complete opposite experience for me.
They took it in good spirits, and were glad to have been there considering recent history

I originally booked the Travelodge in Watford, good job i changed it to Harrow last week.

Got rooms reserved in the Premier Inn in Watford. I don’t feel the need to change and it should be quite a laugh getting the train in with mainly Watford fans.

I’m guessing we might end up with the shittier East side of Wembley again though

The east side is no prioblem coming in to Wembley Park
I gave up trying to get a drink in Wembley after the Wigan final, everywhere is far too crowded

Same. In a weird way I enjoy making an effort with ‘opposing fans’. It’s just a quirk of gate who you support.

Yes the only tosser we met yesterday was a random visibly coked-up Spurs fan who told us: "We will murder City on Tuesday. Our stadium is too good for you." We asked him if was going to the game but he gave the stock answer of all fake fans of: "Couldn't get a ticket mate."

That sums it up mate. Was he a fan or a prick, no need to answer :)

True enough. West side is the roundabout though and the recent addition of Box Park. Otherwise, you're right. Thing is, it's a balancing act between finding somewhere with a decent atmosphere but not too packed where you're struggling to get a beer or going some place where there's about half a dozen of you in the pub

Easiest option before the game is drink in London , around Euston, Kings Cross or around Baker Street then straight on the tube .

Had the misfortune to get the train back to the Midlands with some West Brom fans who had been playing Milwall. They were pissed up, probably coked up and singing vile songs for over an hour, mostly about the Irish. If they're representative of the fans who go to England matches, I'm surprised there isn't more trouble. Animals.
