FA Cup Semi Final draw - Brighton

...and let's be honest, how many people want to travel to Wembley on a dry coach?
I think it will appeal to certain people. Possibly people taking their kids for the day out, who don't want to be surrounded by fans drinking. It would appeal to fans who've never been to Wembley before and don't know where to go/can't drive etc.

The other side is that, although these are dry coaches, if you really want a drink you'll get one on, you just have to be subtle about it.

Better late than never indeed but what would have been better for all albeit a lot more expensive for the club would be to subsidise the tickets. Subsidising a coach by £20 per person for even 1,000 people is £20k which a day's pay or less for a lot of our players. Knocking £20 off per ticket for everyone equates to circa £660k based on 32k tickets. Yes it's more expensive but City benefit from a sold out end and every supporter also benefits and it has the knock on feel good factor from every fan. I also doubt whether 1,000 fans will take advantage as many will already have sorted out transport prior to the announcement
That was my second suggestion.

It’d cost the club just £1.125m to pay for half of the ticket prices for everyone (saying the average ticket price is £75). To the club, that’s nothing!

We would have sold out by now had they done that.

It would have been the best publicity the club may have ever got for doing something like that for the fan.

I have to laugh at the Blues who wouldn’t give our fans until pay day to hand over the currently empty blocks. There will be unallocated blocks next to the Brighton fans that haven’t been allocated that should be made available first to Brighton if they have extra demand. That also helps with segregation.

People's pay day varies, not a major factor, as lot will need to wair until after the semi-final to be paid or are paid weekly. No point waiting if there are only the expensive ones left or single seats in the cheaper areas, if that was the case with me I wouldn't bother in the end.

Fair point mate but for some Blues (we are are talking about people who don’t have a season ticket with general sale) opening up a block or two with rows and rows of relatively cheaper seats might just make the difference to them.

I agree it would - but I assume we can't have the extra blocks if the don't look like selling the initail ones, as they will end up get offered to Brighton.

I have had a look on the plan, and the good news is it should not be so bad going for a piss where I am behid the goal. People my also not feel the need to stand in tha aisles with all the empties.

I am glad as it may mean they are cheaper next time we are there - and semi final ticket income is pooled for all four clubs so the club does not lose out much.

There are still a few £30 ones available but not many.

Top tier is pretty full now behind the goal with less than 300 left between blocks 517-506. Only 2 of those blocks have more than 40. Gets a bit more sparse on the side top tier 505-502 with over 600 left although the latter is sold out.

Lower tier not so good. Lots of seats available.

Basically it’s the £65/£80 tickets that haven’t sold well not surprisingly.
