FA Cup Semi-Final Post Match thread

To be fair, we dominated most of that match. That trophy is ours!

Yep,two thirds is definitely most.

Not yet it isn't,play to our potential, and dont underestimate a possessed Wigan side,it certainly should be.

we need to show exactly the same desire that we showed today

zero complacency

The Independants take......

Chelsea

PETR CECH: Helped keep Chelsea in game early on with two crucial stops. Not to blame for either goal. 7/10

BRANISLAV IVANOVIC: Crucial block from Aguero but lost his man as the Argentine notched City's second. 6

DAVID LUIZ: Not the type of game that brings out his best. Came more into game after break. Close with free-kick. 6

CESAR AZPILICUETA: Unable to help stop City's attacking verve and unwittingly set up Nasri for opener. 5

RYAN BERTRAND: Filling in for Ashley Cole, the left-back blocked a Tevez shot. Kept busy at back and unable to go forward. 5

RAMIRES: Ineffective in first half and ceded the free-kick that led to City's second. Wasted header in front of goal. 6

JUAN MATA: Curled over before the break but forced to drop back and help out in defence more than he would have liked. 6

OSCAR: Subtle flicks and tricks but Brazilian was unable to utilise his skills to any great effect until City tired. 6

JOHN OBI MIKEL: Struggled to cope with power of City's attacking force. Sacrificed for Torres as Chelsea chased game. 5

EDEN HAZARD: Had effort cleared off line by Kompany but more influential after the break as Chelsea rallied. 6

DEMBA BA: Wonderful movement for Chelsea's goal but too often left isolated. 7

Best off the bench: Fernando Torres

Instant impact without touching ball. Presence created space for Ba to capitalise. 6

Manchester City

COSTEL PANTILIMON: Saved by Kompany early on but contributed a couple of vital saves to keep Chelsea out. 7/10

VINCENT KOMPANY: Headed Hazard shot off line but sliced wide at other end. Fortunate not to give away a penalty against Torres. 8

PABLO ZABALETA: Offered usual reliable presence, both in defence and going forward. Steady display from the Argentine. 6

GAEL CLICHY: Fine run forward in opening minutes set the tone for City's play but struggled to contain late Chelsea rallies. 6

MATIJA NASTASIC: Serb has greatly impressed in recent months and shone both in the air and on the ground yesterday. 7

James Milner: Motored forward on the left wing at every opportunity but was caught in two minds when wasting a counter-attack. 7

Samir Nasri: Linked up well with Yaya Touré in centre. Fortunate with ricochet for opener but cool finish under pressure. 7

Gareth Barry: First in the book for foul on Ramires. Lofted cross set up Aguero for City's second goal after the interval. 7

Yaya Toure: Ivorian has gathered a second wind in recent weeks and sauntered through Chelsea's midfield at will. 8

Sergio Aguero: Clever throughout. Lovely ball for Nasri opener and strong header for second. Nasty lunge on Luiz late on. 8

Carlos Tevez: Energetic display behind Aguero and had Chelsea defence in all sorts of trouble. 8

Best off the bench: JAVI GARCIA

Brought on to help stifle Chelsea's attempts for an equaliser. Aided defensive efforts. 6

Outplayed Chelsea for 65 minutes - last 25 minutes was nervy but a thoroughly deserved win

Chelsea will wonder what would have happened had they had a go from the off. It was a repeat of our game at City in the League where they came to defend

dominant first hour where we squandered 3/4 really simple chances which was frustrating then we just went completely bonkers, Vinny kept getting caught under the chipped balls and I don't know what Clichy was doing but Hazard murdered him for about 5-10 minutes. Lack of concentration after their sub and they scored a soft goal.

Through though, should beat Wigan. Really easy to get to and from the ground was back in Manc by 9pm. On a side note in Tier 3 what is the point in going to the game if you're going to miss half of it by either a) going for a pint, b) going for a piss, c) going for a fag or d) going for food. It was like a procession of people going back and forth from the 5th minute on and it was ridiculous. If you're not going to go and watch the bloody game then don't go at all because we shouldn't have to rely on the screens to watch the match because you're piss-arsing about constantly.

You have a bladder, use it. You have a brain, use it. You have an arse, plant it, or if you're standing, tie your legs to the seat.

Was ridiculous today.

Agree with every bit of your post fella.

Agreed again, also add the bloody fool of a bloke in with us, who was continually moaning at the "effin disgraceful" city fans who had the cheek to sit and watch the game instead of standing!

Were you in block 139? As there was someone like that near where I was in 139.

Deserved winners

Toure is a beast and sometimes i wish barca had him again

Disappointed in aguero though. Really horrible tackle.

Probably means Mancini keeps his job which might please united fans as i still don't trust him in Europe

Piss off and go and munch on some Tapas or something.

why are you so sensitive?

do you have to praise mancini in order to be accepted in this forum?

Yes mate that's it and also don't forget to compare Gareth Barrys reading of the game and passing ability to Xavi anything less just is not accepted

Personally I would rather Chelsea got top four than those self righteous sanctimonious twats at arsenal

Not the biggest fan of any of the 3 Larndon sides but see Chelsea as our biggest threat so would prefer them to miss out so it hampers their transfer and managerial (Jose...) plans.

True but we can beat all three. Arse fans are the worst though

Chelski are going spend big money no matter what, if the spuds and gooners miss out their Donald ducked; Everton nick that 4th place and all their board will do is trouser the extra cash. From our point of view, I reckon Chelski and the blue dippers finishing 3rd and 4th would be awesome, Wiltshire and Bale wanting out could be two very good additions to our squad.
