FA Cup Semi-Final Post Match thread

Have to say that the TV coverage of the game against Chelsea was far more impartial than it is against United or Arsenal, but the Aguero incident has been replayed to saturation point, and the more it's been played the more has been cut so that we no longer see the elbow that Luis (over 6') swung at Aguero (5'7") or the attempts to barge Sergio out of the way. I haven't seen a replay of Torres raking anyone's leg (was it on the highlights?). The "penalty" Chelsea "should" have had is asserted over and over again, but Oscar's trip on Ya Ya (worth a yellow at the very least) isn't mentioned. These replays and erasures are not, of course, to help analyse the ref's performance, but to denigrate ours by planting the impression that City can only win because of sympathetic refereeing. Whereas any controversial refereeing of the rags (unless it's a sending off of Nani)...

I thought we were excellent especially in the 1st half. We could've gone in at half time with 4 or 5 goals.

Barry was immense and in my opinion ran the game.

Yaya was on fire and those runs were unstoppable.

Zaba was a monster and is hard as fuck.

Pantillimon proved what an excellent keeper he is - handled everything superbly.

Thought Bob got the starting line up & both substitutions spot on. Saw the game out well.

That's Utd and Chelsea swept aside in the same week, with us playing beautiful yet resilient football.

A timely reminder of how good we are and how we should have been champions again this year.

Great banter beforehand on the roundabout to ;)

watched this back now, thought we were very impressive first 20 minutes, they were on top 20-30 mins then we dominated again till half-time and should have been 2/3-0 up.

Started as we finished the first half and should have had 2/3 more before the hour mark but then Torres came on and we went to bits at the back for the last half hour(at least till JoLe came on), Panty kept us in it for 5-10 minutes.

Overall a good performance but I think we wouldn't have had any trouble in the last half hour if we hadn't kept them in the game with wasted opportunities. Think the fact most of them had to put a lot of physical and mental effort into winning on monday and the fact that this was clearly the hottest game they'd had to play in since the community shield I think would have lead, with the fact we played hard for an hour to dominate the game and the sheer mental stress and pressure of it being our last winnable trophy meant that we became physically and mentally tired, I think the heat did tell as the kits were sweating a lot more than usual in the opening minutes and we don't play in warm weather at all, they're not used to it even if they're from abroad.

Good win, hope they rest everybody for wednesday, they need a break.
