Typical PL leeches sucking football dry! And the FA, well, once the Crown Jewels have been sold off, what if anything is or has been their role for the part 30+ years! Good riddance to them and the old men in grey suits getting their grubby hands on cup final tickets at the expense of real
fans. I see another boycott coming and this isn’t that Yorkshire twat!

The fa cup remains the best competition in the world. Such a shame.
There's no reason why it can't remain the best cup competition in the world. It's the old FA men in blazers who have presided over its decline. They have been stitching up us fans for years. Much as I hate the twats leading the PL the FA Cup might prosper if it wasn't a rival but was run by the PL.
I am relaxed about scrapping replays. I think penalty shoot-outs might be better with more jeopardy for the bigger clubs but there has to be a way to ensure the smaller clubs get a fair slice of the cash cake. The PL would probably do a better job of marketing the FA Cup globally than the idiots at the FA. Kick-off times are a different debate. Perhaps the answer is to slash ticket prices for matches on Sunday nights etc with broadcast money ringfenced to help fans. Perhaps even transport subsidies for away fans. Something has to give.

The fixture schedule is going to be fucked with the expanded CL, that's why this is happening. I don't see the League Cup surviving much longer in It's current format. I'd give it 5 years tops, because It's not a big money earner for the top clubs, who would rather play European games, in an even more expanded CL, down the line.

Aside from beating united in the final as part of a treble, the best thing by far about the fa cup are those potential 3rd/4th round away draws against the Swindons and Peterboroughs of the world. Unfortunately for us, both those ties were midweek and whilst still being great trips they would have been infinitely better had they been on a proper FA cup weekend.

They may aswell just scrap the thing entirely if they're making these kind of changes and taking away the unique aspects of the cup.

Great shout pal

Have to say, I don’t have a problem with anything in those proposals, and the tv coverage rights is a bit irrelevant as the final is on the government’s list of free to air protected events anyway.

In fact the only one I might slightly quibble with is the increased PL to EPL payments of the final point; just because the PL has a decent income (and decent outgoings too tbf) doesn’t mean they should be using that to bail out shoddily run outfits lower down the football pyramid who spend beyond their means. If they go bust they they’ll just have to come back lower down the pyramid; if it was my team I’d still go and support them etc.
