00:34 Euston to Picadilly - Gets in a 07:59So the game will finish around 9.45 and the last train back is what time?
They do for midweek CL games, because they run the train. If we renationalised the railways and merged them with the track suppliers maybe that could happen.
Virgin own the rights to that route, they ain't gonna allow a special to run
I nearly put 15-20 years ago, but went conservative as I couldn't be bothered looking it up.Our regular Friday night games started versus Ipswich in August 1996
They should put 'specials' on for all London midweek games or games that finish too late to get back on scheduled trains.I’d pay that. As much for the convenience than anything else. Mega Bus for six quid, hotel, endless hours on the motorway. Fuck that. My point was mainly asking why City can lay on the special trains for our London brethren (and I think that’s a good initiative), but can’t ever seem to sort a similar thing for the fans living in, er, Manchester. I’m not so wide-eyed and non-business savvy to know why. It’s a corporate thing. But I do think the club could, and should be laying on a train for this. It’d cost them fuck all in the grand scheme of things. I’m lucky, I teach, so I’ll be going to this and staying with a mate in the Smoke. Travel Friday, back Saturday. On the train. But I’d have taken a special if it’d been offered. But I know it won’t. We’ve never done one for any of the recent Wembley trips (2011 onwards) and we ain’t gonna sytart now. There’s a glass tunnel to be built.

or 23:30 - 07:28
or 23:00 - 01:59
or 22:00 - 01:28
Probably no chance for the 22:00 or 23:00 so the only real option is the overnight trains, and they will likely be rammed.
That's one long day. An hour on Leeds station will seem like an age at that time of night.Could probably do 23:30 London Kings Cross [KGX] to Leeds [LDS] 02:34
03:35 Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly 04:43
An hour in Leeds. Long time to be fucking about on trains though.
It's a 10 minute walk to the Tube at Stratford. It was always mobbed when I worked worked the Olympics. Often had to wait for 3 or 4 trains to come and go before you got on. They ran every 15 minutes or so. If you are unlucky, you may end up waiting up to an hour; that's if the police even allow you out of the ground as soon as the whistle goes. Probably get penned in until the Hammers fans disperse.According to my handy little tube app, you can get back to Euston from Stratford in 26 minutes at that time on a Friday evening so if the match finishes around 9.45pm, and factoring in the 15-20 minute walk from the stadium to Stratford station, theoretically you could piss it in terms of making that last train home at 11pm. However, that's not taking into account crowd congestion on the walk back to the station and none of us are familiar with waiting times for the tube at Stratford because we ain't friggin' played there yet!

Could walk to Hackney Wick (less than a mile) and pick up overground, change at Highbury & Islington for Victoria line to Euston. About 25 minutes. There's also the Javelin trains from Stratford International to St Pancras. They're every 15 minutes but only takes 6 minutes and the walk to Euston is five minutes. Is there another way out of Stratford? You could use East Ham or Plaistow at Upton Park. Stratford station is huge with a plethora of lines going everywhere. I'd guarantee more Hammers are heading out to leafy Essex than Bethnal Green or Mile End.
