If all 36k season ticket holders join it it will become harder.

I suspect the next couple of years you will need to be on the cup scheme to have any chance of a ticket. Which would be a great shame IMO.

Agreed it is all adding on extra costs and stress, especially for people on a low income or like me who pay for tickets but work away and miss the games. This year it being Wigan[No disrespect to them] with a low fan base and no real interest from the neutrals save them hoping they beat us,tickets are plentiful. If it would have been the rags or most other clubs they wouldn't have been.

Another point is at the moment, after years in the wilderness, cup finals and trophies are still a novelty for us so people are clamouring for tickets. If we hopefully win more trophies etcetera in the future the novelty will wear off and it may ease off,but there again i guess we will attract more floating fans.

Re: FA CUP Ticket information

Is there anywhere to purchase them face value even if not on the cup scheme or have any points?

Would it be a case of going down and hoping to get one on the day?

There are thousands of tickets knocking about the place. The FA can't even shift the member tickets which are being returned, never mind the take up in Club Wembley.

I've sourced four outside of my season ticket entitlement, all face value.

County FA's, clubs across the country are sitting on piles and most will be returned today, all are either £85 or £115 and in the City side of the stadium.

Funnily enough, the Wigan ones are £45 and they have thousands of them also.

Outside of the two competing teams, there just seems little interest.

I would wager anyone who goes down without a ticket, especially as it is 5.15pm, will get one outside, too many about for prices to be not much more than face.

It will be far from a sell out.
Well called that man.
I don't like the way City fans are in effect having to pay a higher average price for our tickets than Wigan. I can see why the FA / Wembley are doing this but it's a bit unfair on City fans.

They are clever than many give them credit for. This has been thought through.

Looks like it will sell out tomorrow. I hope that City can source another batch of tickets from somewhere

Re: FA CUP Ticket information

What has being on the cup scheme cost this season?

This is mine:

3 champions league games v Madrid, Dortmund & Ajax, games any City fan would want to go to I would have thought = £65

FA Cup - Leeds, Barnsley & Watford = £50

Carling Cup = Villa - £15

All in £130.

Works out at £18.57 a game approximately - bargain.

I have a final ticket at £65 so all in for cup games it cost me £195. Plus no stress or possible heartache. ( I have not included Stoke away or the semi final)

When Utd made all their fans join their cup scheme we laughed at them. City learnt from that and saw that we would not accept being made to join but they also knew that we would be getting to finals and big games quite soon.

Everyone with a season ticket will join the scheme after this season and all cup games will have good attendances or at least the club will get the 36000 worth of money.

If the club still keep prices at £10 or £15 then I do not think that is too bad.

Re: FA CUP Ticket information

I've had to pay 525 for 3 tickets behind the goal face value was 85.. Didn't wanna chance paying more outside the ground.. I've found it a lot harder to get hold of tickets for the final then the semi..

And they haven't added any new criteria - not sure if that's significant.

This PDF on Wigan's site shows their blocks.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/documents/facfinalseatingplan73-779688.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/documents/ ... 779688.pdf</a>

I brought this up the other day, that shows grey area top tier at the Wigan end, i wondered if those tickets had not been sold to anyone yet

This "grey area" referred to above, are we referring to Blocks 516 and 517 as other than those I dont see any "greyed out" areas in the Wigan end on that image??

No they won't. Its just not possible/practical for everyone.

It's ironic that the money saved by people not joining the cup scheme will have to be used to buy the most expensive tickets instead of the cheaper ones. I think there'll be a much larger uptake of the scheme next year.

I'm not on the cup scheme & got two £45 tickets, took 5mins on line yesterday. Piece of piss. I won't join te cup scheme next season either & I'd be willing to bet I'd get a ticket to any final we get too.
