Not hard is it. In rugby league they just stop the clock, everyone in the ground knows what’s going on that way.

Rugby do a lot of things so much better than football.

They’ve been using VAR for years too. It actually enhances the excitement and fairness of the game rather than being the bent, opaque charade it is in football.

I’d also take the restart countdown clock from rugby league and put it on goal kicks, throw-ins, corners and free kicks. If after 15 seconds the ball isn’t back in play, possession is turned over.

Yeah good point. Like a lot of rules in footy, the refs don’t apply then consistently so they sort of fade away.
