FA No To Mancini...

I know because of Champions league final the F.A. Cup final had to be brought forward, but as its the F.A.s showpiece game why the hell weren't the prem games all moved to Sunday?
Correct question, if the final had to be 2 weeks early why were the other domestic fixtures not moved ? Maybe they could have had all fixtures on Saturday and the final on Sunday, but either way no other games on final day.

The answer however is that PL games are covered by SKY TV, and the FA Cup isn't, and there is much more money from SKY, so as in all questions related to football at the top level, the answer is simple.

MONEY

The good thing about FA cup being played before end of the prem season is
Whoever wins the cup the fans get another chance to celebrate hopefully its us at coms against stoke followed up with game at Reebok

Who cares if they win the league the same day! There gonna win it anyway nothing will over shadow an fa cup final win!

FA cup final is meant to be final showpiece game of the season, the FA are their own worse enemies, they spout on about the magic of the cup etc and why teams have downgraded the competition but allow this to happen. For me if we win the cup that will be the first silverware I will have witnessed in 34 years of watching my beloved blues and to me it won't matter a jot whether the scum win the league. However I can see a hugh Rag wankfest over the summer as per usual and the FA cup winners whether us or Stoke will be relegated to a half line paragraph, 68 all over again.

Sky/ESPN would lose 2 live football slots if all games were moved to sunday, so the compromise was to allow all fixtures that weekend to kick off in TV slot times, leaving the 3pm FA Cup slot free.

Ultimately though apart from the 2 teams involved nobody's going to watch the game.

The FA cup final is not the big event like it used to be anyway.

I grew up in the fifties and sixties, and on cup final day the country literally ground to a halt, and I mean the whole country,... streets were deserted, the build up was on TV from 9am, now go in any Asda or Tesco during the match the tills will still be ringing.

Sad, but it's just a sign of the times.

it's because of the champions league final at wembley 2 weeks later. uefa insist that the venue for the final should be "clean" for 14 days prior to it. once again, the game's governing body put themselves above the domestic game and play havoc with tradition. absolute arseholes they are.

so the fa can stage 2 semi finals in 2 days but uefa need 2 full weeks? it smacks of self importance. i accept that the fa knew this and they are as bad as uefa in my opinion.

Nothing Arrogant about Uefa doing this.. They want the pitch to be in as perfect condition as possible for their flagship game.. Nothing wrong in that. Wembley and the FA knew this full well when they bid for the game

I'll be glued to the FA Cup final no matter what, and it would be the perfect day if we did secure Champs league football that day aswell

the fa held 2 semi finals in 2 days and there wasn't a problem. the 2 weeks thing from uefa smacks of self-importance. i accept that the fa knew this but i won't defend them either. they're as bad as uefa for letting this happen.

us winning our first cup for 30 odd years will overshadow the sceond coming of christ let alone a ref manufactured prem title for the worst side in history.

take the cheating out and chelsea would have won it by xmas.

Hear! Hear!

Pray tell me how many points have they controverted?
Or If they were rightfully suspended

From Nani cheating & myotonic twitching, Berba flopping, Neville's penalties, rooney, Scholes, Vidic thuggery?
Or Fergie's dark arts

Neville - ?
Nani - ?
Cheaterito - ?
Vidic - ?
Scholes - ?
Rooney - ?
Rio - ?
Evra - ?
Other scums - ?

Couldn't agree more but the only people responsible for the decline are the FA themselves, wankers the lot of them.
