Another good performance by Delph and he may very well keep his place in the starting line up.

He absolutely should. Far better the last two matches than Fernandinho has been for some time. He's also not shy of having a crack from range, which we could use a bit more of.

For no other reason than to open up space for other players—we don't necessarily need to score from those efforts (though, that is a plus), we just need to hit them hard and on target so that opposing defenders always feel they have to close down the player on the edge of the box, thus creating space for Aguero, Sane, Sterling, et al for the easy side rule pass into space.

Delph played very well today, closing down attacks, playing simple but very effective passes, and scored a very nice goal (in addition to taking a few other cracks from distance). His energy and coverage at right back as Navas overlapped forward was especially helpful to the system working well.

He brings much needed attributes in that midfield - energy, handwork and is actually more of a box-to-box midfielder rather than a holding or deep lying midfielder. Not as talented as Fernandinho and Toure but as a unit of three in midfield, he is proving to be valuable. Did not like his selection against Chelsea because we compromised the real directness, pace and penetration that the likes of Sterling brings upfront but he has certainly played well in that game and today and Guardiola trusts him.

Started off sloppy but did grow into the game and bagged himself a top quality strike.

I thought he was excellent today.

Other than Dinho, who hasnt been quite the same player this season,we have been missing an energy and steel in midfield - along with bags of enthusiasm and confidence,he provides us with a very mobile presence that others can't

It's simple.....if he can stay fit,he's a great HG option to call upon.

He's played very well, the last 2 games. Should definitely keep him
