Regardless of the respective long term injuries to Kompany and Delph. the fact remains that City are now effectively playing with a 23 man squad, when all our rivals are playing with 25.
Not a major problem, but now that De Bruyne's also injured, it's crucial that we don't pick up any more stupid suspensions etc

Just going off wiki says his Leeds senior career 2006 2008 44 apperences 6 goals

Wiki is a shit source for this type of thing mate, try Transfermarket.com.

He only made 3 appearances before establishing himself with Leeds in the 08/09 season, he's since gone on to make 219 senior competitive club appearances.

Oh and Vinnie has made 299 apps for City according to the same source.

Yes, but it's a stupid comparison when he's 16 isn't it?

I bet Sterling has fewer appearances in the last 10 years than Kompany too.
It was just to show that delph has only managed 180 games in ten years as a pro compared to kompany who we all think is a perma croc has managed 220 in the last 8 years ,
It just shows how injury prone delph is .
Sterling according to wiki has managed 132 games in a 4 year pro career

180 games In 10 years is indeed hopeless. He's been with us 1 year and I think this latest one is something like his 5th or 6th period out injured. "Unreliable" would not be an unreasonable label.

Fair enough but that makes it worse so Vinny has managed another 80 games over roughly the same period,
Delph record really isn't the best

It is useless but it's incorrect, not that the real figures are much better.

Yes but it doesn't show that. He was bloody 16 10 years ago! Does the fact he didn't play many games then mean he was injured, or was he just like every other 16 year old in the world?

Why not extend it longer, and manipulate your stat some more? Delph has only got 180 games in 15 years!

He didn't even sign a professional contract until 2008, so he hasn't got 180 games in 10 years as a pro, he's got 230 games (178 league games) in 8 years as a pro.

Which means he's played 30 games a year on average over his career. Not great these days, but not completely useless either.

Seems like a nice fella but with the way Pep is and Fab not really having chance to prove himself, think he'll find himself out. If he can stay fit he'd be a great signing for any team pushing Europe.

Think he'd be decent for us if he stayed fit...

We could quote figures all day ,the basic point is when he's fit he's not a bad player but the version we have at city dosnt seem fit too often we just seem to have swapped him for jack Rodwell maybe Sunderland will take him.
Off the pitch he's replaced Micah as the star of city TV
He seems a nice enough lad and deserves some better luck

he can be a good player, i like the guy... but doubt he has much future though with injuries as he doesnt get a chance to prove himself.. I like to think under the new pep regime we wont buy anymore players that already have a proven track record for injuries and anymore panic buy wilfred bony players.

Not involved in training again today.
Becoming increasingly clear that the purchase of this guy was a mistake thankfully not an expensive one. We should try to replace him in January if necessary with a stopgap who will at least be fit enough to play when asked.
