As a 'confirmed flapper' this will get a bit of stick: But the blind optimism of some on here is just as bad as the pessimism I'm sometimes guilty of.

Serious question to the optimistic, here:

The portent of this signing going to shit is foreboding and ominous. How are your alarm bells not ringing that the summer is going the way of 2012?

Great start by Txiki. Why even bother doing all the leg work without a cast iron garentee the player wants to come? Embarrassing.

He's clearly looked at Rodwell Sinclair and Johnson and with the European championships next summer wants to play a full season. Don't really blame him. But farcical on our part
I've just gone back through the last ten pages to 'catch up' and these three posts followed one another
virtually every other post was people discussing the whys and wherefores of Delph apart form these

at least we know what happened to Curly, Larry and Mo when their TV careers ended

Almost the exact same team we have right now, no improvements so far

I can guarantee you we will only possibly sign one of those 3 and that's it.

If we stop mucking about with the fee, the Sterling deal should be done.

I'm praying we can sign the other two aswell.

I don't think there's any way Juventus will turn down that much money for Pogba and Barcelona are out of the race.

De Bruyne looked the easiest to sign now looks the hardest. I still think we'll sign him simply because of our financial strength over Wolfsburg.

Bollocks, why stay on our bench and potentially miss the Euro's?

He's developed well at Villa, they look they're heading on the up and he's leaving himself with more pressure to perform week in week out at Villa than he would have here. vThe spotlight is on him at Villa as you've just mentioned.

A chance to prove yourself at City and win things or stay at struggling Villa and be their hero. He took up the challenge and then shit out at the last minute. He can only be worried that he isn't good enough to get a regular spot or he's weak minded enough to listen to all the propaganda about us ruining English players. Either way he's a bottler and it's a bullet dodged as far as City are concerned.

Why did he insist on such a low sell out clause? He obviously wants to move to a bigger club. He either doesn't think he#s good enough for us or he's been turned by the media.

This loyalty shite is doing my head in.

1. Villa bought his replacement. He's just fucked them over.

2. If he was loyal he'd have never negotiated with us as far as he did.
