Fabian Delph

I think Delph will only be surplus to requirements if Maguire actually comes to City.
He would more than likely be the fifth
choice leftback behind Mendy, Angelino, Zinchenko and Laporte, and at best the fourth choice defensive midfielder behind Fernandinho, Rodri and Gundogan. Pep has clearly lost trust in him and he would barely get any game time next season so it's best for his career if he moves on.

Just out of interest, where has it been confirmed that Delph is surplus to requirements for next season?

Speculation only at this stage but if we sign a HG Centre Half (Maguire or Ake) then because the CL squad rules are different to PL squad rules, in that you can only have 4 association trained players he would be the one to miss out (Stones/Walker/Sterling + new signing) so you would imagine he'd be surplus to requirements.

He's probably 4th choice Left Back (Mendy, Angelino & Zinc), 4th choice DM/Pivot (Rodri/Fern/Gundo) & 6th Choice AM (KDB/Silva x 2/Gundo/Foden).

Shame but hard to see him finding a role (unless he fancies being back up GK to free up Bravo's spot!)

By some distance....That isn't confirmation.

Nope it isn't ....worded it like below

But City are also set to lose essentially all of their other emergency left-back options. Danilo had been called upon to play there at times but he looks set to leave, while Fabian Delph, who stood in brilliantly in the 2017-18 season but struggled in 2018-19, has already cleared out his locker at the Etihad Stadium.

Banging your head Karen
I wouldn't mind the bleating and wetting if he had cost 40 mill we got him for next to fuckall. Pound for pound one of our best buys to date
Yep,£8m very well spent,i don't understand people who want our players to go abroad to a crappy league just to get rid,i suspect he has no real connection to the club if he thinks like that

Setting aside that Sam Lee is reliable journalist several others have reported similar, including Simon Mullock or whoever else you want to look to. Not that you should really need much confirmation that the club is open to selling its fourth choice left back/fifth choice defensive mid who barely played last year.

Confirmation is when we see the club announce his departure, anything else is speculation.
