Fabregas

When the Fabregas thing turns out to be fiction, they will be roundly congratulated by the media for not burying him.

Why would they congratulate them for not burying him? :)

-- Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:14 pm --

They easily can, these new TV revenues mean even mid-table clubs can pay big money. Southampton had a £17million bid for Osvaldo accepted (he turned them down). United could pay huge money for a player IF sanctioned by their wonderful owners.

Southamptons owner is a billionaire

United have monster revenues and could spend £50million on a player if they really wanted. People delude themselves if they think United couldn't afford Fabregas. The question is how much will their owners will allow them to spend not how much can they afford to spend.

But they also have monster debt. If they were debt free then sure they could buy anyone they want. Until they actually buy the team from the bank I don't see them going on a huge spending spree. They are gonna continue with the buying young players under 20m and develope them until debt is more manageable. Their #1 priority is making money.

The debt doesn't restrict their spending because their revenue can cover the installments. Every month United are signing new sponsorship deals and becoming the official partner of something or other. They also have a staggering kit deal now and sold naming rights for their training ground. Barcelona are in humongous debt too and just spent a fortune on Neymar. The Glazers and not the debt or a lack of money are the only reason we can be optimistic they won't go crazy in the market I think.

Wow talksport takin the mick out of Uniteds offer saying its cheap and makes united look silly, all there pundits reckon it won't come off hut then back it up with "united must know something" to keep the story alive. Surprising talksport being so negative about united , progress
