But they have Jones, Wellbeck and Cleverley ....England's future

Guardian reckon Barca need to sell and will sell

Their reporter is out in Sydney so some of that will have come from Utd, but he seems to have done some research himself.....

Barcelona are willing to sell Cesc Fábregas to Manchester United because the Spanish champions need the money, according to a highly placed source in Spain.

I wonder who that is. They quote Spain and not Barcelona.

What the Guardian forgets is that Arsenal have the advantage if FCB need to sell. And there are also other clubs across Europe who might also be interested.

-- Tue Jul 16, 2013 11:59 pm --

Saw some suggestion that Feyernoord are chasing Guidetti again.

Don't think he's fit yet

Really can't see a deal for Fabregas happening this summer. They go and buy Neymar for massive money and then get rid of Thiago and Fabregas? Hmmm, can't see it!

If Barca need money I think they'd sell off Sanchez before Fabregas. Sanchez could probably fetch £15m to £20m. And fringe players like Afellay and whoever isn't going to make it from Barcelona B.

And Xavi is 33.

Yet Moyes is telling the press he's confident.

When he was at EFC we all thought he was a shrewd operator. I know we want to believe he is a fool. He can't be. He must have good grounds to make a very public bid like this. Maybe during the Thiago negotiations they were given the green light?

Most clubs would do this on the quiet. Why when you've had a few public setbacks would you make this public? Talking myself into thinking he's a fool again.

Utd fans can't be happy at the moment

I think that Barca's perfect formation at this moment in time is this

--Neymar Messi Sanchez
------Iniesta Xavi
---------Busquets
--Alba Pique Puyol Alves
---------Valdes

Subs Fabregas, Pedro, Song, Mascherano

Mate - with the greatest of respect, that article was written by a bloke called Jamie Jackson, who writes nothing but endless fawningly sycophantic love letters to the Rags over and over in print. Its amazing the Guardian actually pay him themselves, considering his output reads like a Rag Fanzine writer.

He regularly appears on MUTV, and as you point out is ensconced within the United touring party, writing whatever he is told to do by the hierarchy at that Club. Anything he says can't be viewed as objective Journalism, but merely as a mouthpiece for the rags agenda at any given point.

Its an embarrassing state of affairs for the Guardian, as they have some excellent writers such as David Conn and Dan Taylor who unfortunately are being sidelined by this sycophantic United Fanzine rubbish spouted by Jackson. Used to be my paper of choice for the antidote it provided against all the usual Red Top crap out there, but sadly it seems like their reporting is no different these days.

But Barca have very publicly stated he's not for sale. Cesc has said many times publicly he has no interest in leaving. So it would be very bizzare for him & Barca to change their minds so quickly after so publicly refuting it.

Yes, Fabregas has said he has no interest in leaving, unless Barca want it. Barca have said Fabregas does not want to leave. That is not saying he is not 'for sale'.
