Fabregas

Let's buy Sanchez off them then. We could use another winger and he's the one we wanted in the first place.

Not "break" LC, according to the mirror the scum are going to "smash" their £30.8M transfer fee record by buying Fabregas for £31.0M!!!

Wishful thinking by the Rag lovers.... 1) he isn't for sale. 2) he's not interested 3) if 1) and 2) are incorrect he will cost upwards of £40m.

They have a net spend of £40m this summer. Last season they had a net spend of £29m. The season before that, £11m. Any suggestion that the second richest club in the world, who had record profits last season, and have successfully reduced their debt by €100m in two years, can't afford this outlay is wishful thinking. Especially when you consider the sort of marketing money their latest signing will bring in. He's already the 9th best paid player in the world despite only ever playing in Brazil. His marketing potential, especially in a World Cup year is absolutely insane.

Xavi's age is the biggest argument against selling Fabregas.

But how do you explain Moyes's very public bid for the player? It doesn't make sense unless he has good grounds to be confident

It takes me back to the time that Barca and the rags were vying for the signature of Ronaldinho. One rag joker I used to work with was convinced that Ronaldinho would sign up for "The most famous club in the world", meaning you know who, and when I suggested there was no comparison between sunny Spain and a provincial city on the edge of Europe, he said "Show him the money and he'll come." Ronaldinho's decision to snub the rags was a shock to his system, but we see this attitude is still there within that club and its supporters.

As we read up these Fartygas stories, we are asked to believe that he is unsettled by a lack of opportunities at his great club and he would relish playing at "The most famous club in the world" instead. But I have been doing a bit of research on soccerway.com and the player statistics are quite an eye-opener. Last season, Fabregas has STARTED 30 games which is more than any other player except Valdes. On MINUTES PLAYED, he has been on the pitch longer than all but four of his fellow squad members, those being Valdes, Messi, Alba and Pique. The highly rated Alcantara was well behind on all counts. Fabregas was SECOND HIGHEST GOALSCORER, admittedly well behind Messi, but he was also third highest in the ASSISTS column.

I know that statistics can be interpreted in a number of ways, for example, these are League statistics and a different line-up for Champions League games is more than possible, but the way I read everything, there is no reason anywhere to see that a Spaniard playing for one of Spain's top two clubs, and in World Cup year, is in any way unsettled and would want to gamble away his career at any other club than the one he is already at. Any suggestion that he would be willing to join the rags or re-join the gooners is pure wishful thinking on the part of those connected with those two clubs, but with season tickets being sold on dreams, we can only expect these silly stories to circulate.

Really can't see a deal for Fabregas happening this summer. They go and buy Neymar for massive money and then get rid of Thiago and Fabregas? Hmmm, can't see it!

I think that Barca's perfect formation at this moment in time is this

--Neymar Messi Sanchez
------Iniesta Xavi
---------Busquets
--Alba Pique Puyol Alves
---------Valdes

Subs Fabregas, Pedro, Song, Mascherano
I've not seen Xavi play well for AGES. It's time he got less game time and Fabregas got more. Given the right role Fabregas can run games. He's excellent at running deep and taking the ball off the back 6 and starting moves towards the last third.

-- Wed Jul 17, 2013 12:33 pm --

Maybe he's being told to make it as public as he has. He will have far less control over things than he did at Everton at the Rags.

imo the only reason they have come out publicly with their bid on Fabregas is to take the focus away from the fact they have already once been snubbed by their no.1 transfer target going to Bayern and their current woes with Wooney.

As soon as Fabregas turns them down the rags are going to be in total and utter disarray before a ball as even been kicked in the new season.

Moyes is being spoon fed what messages to get out there (Basically trying to make Rooney out to be the villain) whilst hoping Rooney hands in another request and ultimately forfeit any compensation whilst the player will want to get the remainder of his contract paid out to him. Result = Stalemate...

I personally hope they get stuck with Rooney who turns out to be a cancer within the dressing room.

All making for very interesting (And enjoyable) news in the coming weeks...

Or they are just totally overconfident and assume everyone wants to play for the scum and all they have to do is make an offer 10m less than his worth and they will run to Stretford with tears in their eyes praising a variety of invisible men in the sky.
