Fabregas

They've got a deal in place for Cabaye, and the MEN reports they will turn their attention to Modric with Rooney to be sold once they have players in.

If I were Utd, I'd let Chelsea think Rooney was available for as long as possible then pull the rug from under the deal at the 11th hour so that they have no time to find an alternative. CFC if they are smart will line up an alternative. I don't believe Mourinho when he says Rooney is his only transfer target. Lukaku is not good enough to start games yet.

Cabaye? Decent player he'll do ok for them.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the rags will offer Fartegas double his wage to attract him to the swamp. Now where have I heard of this before? If he accepts, will he then become a mercenary?

No of course not. He will be listening 'to the little boy in me' just like his old mate RVP.

Gill will be doing the rags dirty work from Europe, i can feel instant CL bans on ourselves PSG to assist the scum when they drop out of the top 4 and fail to qualify. Just watch :-)

We will comply with FFP all the way. Soriano knows what he's doing.

I would expect to hear EUFA are planning to make FFP stricter in some way or change the rules to try and limit us further now though due to Gill's influence.

What makes him a suitable candidate for a position in EUFA anyway? He's got a clear agenda in favour of his "former" club.

Manchester United have made a second bid for Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to United manager David Moyes.

United confirmed a £25m offer last Monday and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward left their pre-season tour to carry out urgent transfer business.

"As I understand it, Ed had a response [to the first bid]," said Moyes at a press conference in Yokohama.

"We have made a second offer but Ed is dealing with it rather than me."

The Scot added: "When you're interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise and I'll do that. I hope things can continue and move forward.

"At this moment in time I can only tell you that Ed Woodward is working hard trying to make the deals happen. We can only hope that some of them fall into place shortly."

More to follow.

I'm beginning to think the rags are getting some encouragement from Barca otherwise they wouldn't be letting this play out so publicly. I know people talk about share prices etc but ultimately they will look ridiculous if they don't land a marquee signing after the amount of press they've been getting. Particularly if they then sell Rooney.

On that basis I'm beginning to think this might actually happen.

On the basis that they have had a bid recieved and knocked back and gone with another bid, i dont buy it at all. I think the most likely scenario is they can make bids etc and then say they were priced out of a move and it didnt represent good value and then buy cabye and felliani, its a good strategy because it makes you look like you're doing something while doing nothing.

Quite frankly pathetic attempts by Moyes to deflect from EDWARD Woodward's comical name.

Do the dark arts and sleight of hand employed by that club have any limits?
