Facebook City Fans!!

I no longer venture on the Facebook city page, it is embaressing and it's pointless voicing a constructive opinion on there as you get 200 replies from "randomers" who think they know more about the club.

I don't have a problem with "new fans" supporting city but atleast learn about the club and don't expect everything served on a plate... if you want this then support Barcelona.

Well not all foreign fans are bad of course... but there are some on there that are just absolutely cringeworthy and an example of the bandwagon support that we're likely to get, much like the rest of the Sky 4.

I also take Felix's point about the UK fans that go over the top in their obsession. I've probably got a good 30 friends that are local City fans, but their all ones I've met along my travels. The ones with middle names "mcfc" and "ctid" can all be friends with Blue Roo instead.

I find myself fuming at even thinking about that facebook page, i despise it.

Please don't yell at me for saying this, but if I didn't go to that page on a regualr basis, I probably wouldn't love City as much as I do.


The non-english speaking fans do my head in yes, but the English/Aussie/American fans are great imo.

Maybe I'm not good enough of a real City fan to see what the problem is, but whatever...

The club are desperately trying to get another 30/40 thousands fans through the door at Eastlands because we need it for the FFPR, obviously when our stadium gets increased in size.
Where are these fans supposed to come from?
You all bleat on about getting a bigger stadium but what is the point if you don't want new fans to fill it?
You don't have to go on the facebook page if you don't want to, nobody forces you. So why do you have to insult the very people that our club are trying to get on board?

Let's face it we are going to get "gloryhunters" if we are successful and i presume that is what we all want.

I'd rather much go back to Maine Road and sit with 35,000 die hard blues then in a 60,000 capacity stadium with mindless followers that haven't a clue. But I guess everyone is different. I prefer a good atmosphere to a large crowed and the bigger the stadium doesn't necessarily mean a better atmosphere, compare Maine Road to OT imo (not being bias) Maine Road had a better atmosphere since we've moved to CoMS we get 44,000 (on average) and the atmosphere isn't what it use to be.
