Jesus, some right tossers in this thread, `i`m not protesting, it won`t do any good etc.`. 17.15 KICK OFF IS NOT SOMETHING TO PROTEST ABOUT? So the fans of other teams can watch it after there game! Kin tossers, the game will be so corporate in the future you won`t be able to afford to take your kids or go yourself. MAKE ME FUCKIN SICK THE` DO NOTHING `SMUG FUCKERS.
If you're going to protest about the state of football for genuine fans do it properly. This really isn't doing it properly. This will just make the protesters look like chumps.

Great rant, so just because some people don't share your opinion, they're all tossers, or smug fuckers.

You miss the point about the 5:15 ko, nobody is saying its right as far as I can see, and while its been the normal the last 2 years there have been reasons for it. Last year the stadium couldn't be used after a certain date because of the Olympics, so in keeping with tradition they wanted it on a Saturday, and moved it to 5:15pm to prevent smaller clubs losing revenue. Hopefully next year it will revert to being the last game of the domestic league season (barring play off finals).

Kick offs of TV games are not allowed to clash with Saturday 3:00pm ko's, which is a good thing for all the clubs up and down the country that do. Its got nothing to do with fans being able to watch it after their game, which of course they probably would, but if it was at 3:00pm then those who really want to watch it, would stay right there in their armchair, instead of going down to their local club to watch a match.

On prices, I think its largely reasonable for a show peice game in world football, yes £115 is daft, and £105 for a kid is mad, but these are also in the minority of price, and aimed at corporate, who it seems don't care much about cost.

I made my protest already by not buying a ticket, was offered one for £115! I love City but I refuse to pay that much for one 90 minute football match, especially one I can watch on TV for free!

How are you protesting though?

Aren't you just doing what the Advertisers (who part fund the game) want you to do by watching their advertising on the Tv?

As opposed to going to the game with all the advertising hoardings, advertising on the pitch, advertising on the players shirts, advertising in the stadium, advertising on the match programme, at the bars, on the tannoy, on the scoreboard and so on...

I guarantee if everyone flat out refused to buy tickets at those prices they would be forced to reduce them to a fairer price in future.

Nice idea in theory but don't want this to distract anyway from the special occasion the FA cup final brings. Cup competition prices are very reasonable really, it's the league matches we should be protesting for...

i agree with you, just rising awareness

the only protest that would ever work would be if people didnt buy tickets an boycotted.

A boycott by fans at the FA Cup Final would have no effect on the FA as the "event" would still sell out, just to people that couldnt care about the result.
negative publicity for the "corporate partners" or even free advertising for the Partners major rivals would have the greatest effect.
Imaging the big cheese at Bill Hill having paid a fortune to be associated with the FA Cup Final seeing al lot of paddy power signs held by fans round the ground, or Budweiser seeing a "Carlsberg dont do football clubs MCFC banner''' I dont think they would be too happy, and their complaints to the FA would carry a LOT more weight than any boycott by fans at a game that will sell out regardless
Incredibly crude, but; http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9105/carlr.png

A mass boycott would only hit them in the 3rd round, and if everyone did it.

What would work, but probably completely unfeasible, would be supporters from clubs involved in the 3rd round next season to boycott the games. En masse. See how the suits and sponsors like that?
Fukinell, great minds and all that! Just said similar mate.

I'm going to the Cup Final to watch and support my team. To enjoy myself and the weekend not to protest.
I think we are quickly turning into the scousers! Always looking for 'a cause' always being wronged. Always looking for the negative / critical angle so we can 'protest'.
Fucking grow up!
I'm going to watch and support my team as well but football is being stolen from us bit by bit. One day you won't be able to watch a game because it's too expensive, on at an inconvenient time or so many tickets have been given to non-football fans. Then you'll think "We should so something" but it'll be too late.
Where were your protests when 15:00 Staurday games stopped being a tradition? Where were your protests when Monday night Football was introduced? Where were your protests when they made Portsmouth play Newcastle away on a week night? Where were your protests when we had to play at Everton at 11:00? Where were your protests when they moved the Premier League final day after the FA Cup final? Did you boycott Bolton away that day we all tried to get it organised? Did you boycott Arsenal away this season? Where were your protests when five clubs wanted a breakaway league to make themselves rich and fuck everyone else off? Where were your protests against G14 clubs monopolising money in Europe? Where were your protests against the final game of the season being on a Sunday at 16:00 every season? Where were your protests against all seater stadiums? Where were your protests against City charging fans £50+ a ticket?

The truth is the governing bodies started taking football away from the fans three decades ago, it's not just starting now. Nobody's done a dicky bird about it apart from the odd lame half hearted gesture. This is one of them.

Only this, when they tried to raise German ticket prices above 20 euro's 30k BVB fans were protesting.

This country is a joke.

If I buy a ticket and then complain that the ticket was too expensive, who do I have to blame but myself?

I am sick of reading/hearing football fans saying they have already bought a ticket and then saying "I am being priced out". If you're paying for it, you're not priced out. English football fans act like they are being compelled to pay, they are not.

Agree with the posters on here that the only way to properly protest prices is to not buy.

I can't afford a ticket, but it's someone else's fault. I haven't got enough loyalty points, but it's someone else's fault. I didn't join the cup scheme, but it's someone else's fault. I got banned for smoking, but it's someone else's fault. I can't get a job, but it's someone else's fault. Pathetic.
