Very far north of us almost on the Oregon border (five hour drive); we didn’t feel it down here at all. Had a little one a few weeks ago. Assuredly someday we will have a big one but don’t forget Loma Prieta was only back in 1989. 1916 was big but made much worse by masonry buildings and the fire.

Was 16 hours ago. Took a while before light for them to assess all the damage. Reasonably large amount. The real danger up there is tsunami — a lot of low-lying land near the ocean. So they got a little lucky.

6.4 I have been through bigger aftershocks than that, its only news because its in cali,, there are far more and bigger quakes in alaska, never hear much about it though
