Fake news, illegal data harvesting and targeted ads

1) Your opinions are just that. like your arguments, opinions.

2) subterfuge, deceit used in order to achieve one's goal, maybe governmental peace doesn't fit with someones profitability forecast, maybe the white west need a white enemy to stem a religious war that is simmering nicely, maybe some silly fucker droped a chunk of stolen Russian Novichock and before 100 civilians got sick they killed an ex spy with what was left....do I believe any of that? Some of it makes more sense than killing a non active defector with a murder method that is proven unreliable by it's very action.

3) ALL governments have whole departments dedicated to it. You are being insulting towards my opposing viewpoint (which is "I don't fucking know, but i dont trust my government to tell me the truth").

1) doesn’t even really make sense but yes my arguments are my opinion, do you wish my arguments to be your opinion instead?

2) nonsense, pure babble without an actual point. No evidence whatsoever and dismissive of the points I’ve actually made on other nations backing us on the issue of the poisoning.

3) ALL governments have departments designed around poisoning their citizens or ex citizens with banned chemical weapons? Have you really just said that?

He's dead wrong there, it's the reptilian overlords, not the governments.

  • The Egyptian/Hitite war ramasees bullshitted the Egyptian public throughout
  • Marc anthony was the subject of fake news from both ceasar amd cleopatra to turn his supporters against him
  • Blood libel started in medieval times and carried on for centuries
  • Benjamin franklin used fake news daily to turn americans against british rule in the revolutionary war
  • Confederate states used fake news against slaves to stir up more tension
  • The yellow journalist of the 19th century pretty much started the american-spanish war with bullshit articles.
I could list more, the fact is fake news was here throughout and people only mention it now because trump brought the word to prominence using it to deflect true stories about what a twat he is.

That is the bigger threat, that people are now calling out true stories as fake to suit their narative and agendas.

As for data harvesting, this is the bigger issue, we have so easily, with the advances in tech, given our info over both willingly and also unwillingly.

Agree with this. Fake news and targeted ads are not new but using them in conjunction with harvested data of individuals is.

Not sure it classifies as fake news but the slant that the media puts onto original happenings is something we see much of these days.
Used to be news first then editorial comment within. I recognise headlines have always been designed to sell but views of news have completely taken over from the original news, not only with football but virtually every so called story line.
Regarding our own government system my feeling is that democracy stops as soon as it reaches the HOC due to whips whose job it is to tell MPs which way to vote.
Current crop of MPs maybe need that guidance having mainly graduated from local government where perhaps they learnt to do as they were told and they had a future.

Spot on. The targeting is the problem and you would barely be able to believe how much is collected, even if you saw it with your own eyes. Newspapers can't figure out what music you like, what company you keep, your pay scale, family circumstances, social interests, rage buttons and send out a personalised copy straight to your door. They put out one copy of your paper that everyone can see, challenge and talk about.
