False Accusations about Petrov..

I would have clapped on the 19th minute if I'd known. If they'd let us known beforehand it could have saved that 'no respect' shit, which is disappointing when it's over something like that.

Own up, who threatened him? :)

This apology goes out to Man City fans. It was indeed a false statement, which I shouldn't have tweeted on.

You knew it was false before you tweeted you stupid twat. Now you're backtracking before you get an arse whoopin.

shitbag.

The guys apologised which is fair enough by me. I just wish some people would think before they tweet.

At least they know it was a stupid utd fan who should know better as a grown adult working as a reporter.

I will even try the stupid TS breakfast show to ask them to request Villa fans who went to corroborate the liar's story.
That and a comment of them clarifying it is false and it was unprofessional to allow such an accusation go unchallenged.

I don't listen to that show but i will to try and say this as it bloody well should be acknowledged by them imo that this was just rubbish.

I think to get things in perspective, before anything had been confirmed Villa messageboads were full of praise for city fans and doubted that they would "stoop that low"
Fans that attended the game then started posting and dismissed the reports. I think what back fired for the United Twitters, is that the accusation would probably have very easily been believed if it was aimed at their supporters, but was instantly dismissed based purely on your fans good reputation (at least with Villa).

The no respect song has been identified as banter, the words I think would have been some what harsher, if it was truly felt that insult had been intended. The clapping is a show of support for Petrov from "Villa" fans, it is something that we do every game, however while appreciated when other clubs know about it/ join in, we don't expect every club to do so. Maybe next game.
As for the result, big win for us, major confidence boost in an early rebuilding programme. For you guys, small hiccup, you'll move on and continue to ruffle the feathers of the fat cats enough to where they will hide behind twitter and make more snide accusations about you, you've got them worried

Alright lads, us Villa fans know you wouldn't do that and the "no respect" is just a light hearted dig to be honest.

It would be cringey if Villa fans turned into Liverpool playing the "victim" card just because another set of fans didn't clap its just a bit of banter to wind up the home/away fans.

In my experience City fans are nothing but class, of course there is always going to be a bit of resentment as a few years ago we may have been slightly above you lot or on a par, one oil rich owner comes in now we're fighting relegation and you lot are flying!

I've always welcomed the new city competition was fed up of Chelski and Man U having an easy ride so this competition is welcome. (also city started bringing in players I've followed for years Silva, Aguero & Kompany!)

I can tell you now that any City fans before a Home game VP are welcome to come and chat to the home fans as always found city fans a laugh as opposed to the wanker cockney infested utd support.

You have immediately sailed to the top of my Christmas card list (some of us plan ahead before the sniping anarchists start.)

Mine too !! PS: dont forget to send me his address :-)

Pleasure - it is:

The Brummie Off Bluemoon,
Birmingham.

Obviously you will need to put United Kingdom too, or risk it ending up in Alabama. Our sturdy British posties will see that it arrives - the spirit of Rowland Hill and his lady love Penny Black live on here much as your Pony Express and its guaranteed next day delivery of stallions and mares infuses the employees of Fedex.

i was there and we heard nothing of the sort in the Villa section.. i heard these rumours and immediately put them to bed on the Villa forums. i was really impressed with the support you shown Petrov as were the rest of us there. we haven't done a great job of letting other clubs know the 19th minute ritual, but even saying that i thought most the stadium were applauding. and the half time applause was heartwarming, a class act all in all.
