He’s currently on Boom Radio' "Choices" programme, talking about his life and favourite music.

Ironically, the first record he bought was "Singing The Blues," by Tommy Steele.

Yes, saw on the BBC on TV this morning, the feature, with his son.
Heartwarming, but very sad.
Stay strong John, you were always a caring, sincere journalist.
Was a Blue, when there didn't seem to be many, on the telly...

Gutted for him - what a genuinely nice guy John is - I've met him at loads of away games, most memorably (for me) at Brighton when we won the league that day!

So did I. At the train station outside the ground after the game. He had a chat with me and my lad and a photo done. He was buzzing about winning the league
