Fan Behaviour

I am saying, take the cocaine away and there is less violence.
I am saying take the cocaine away, there would be far less trouble.
Take last Saturday in Central Manchester. The violence was at 11 in the morning. They were not drunk. They were on cocaine.
It happens with horse racing events. People turning up at 2pm fighting. They are coked up. It gets blamed on 'football fans' (How people who attend horse racing are called football fans totally beats me).

And I am NOT saying people should be turning up paralytic at the football. But lets face it, someone slumped in a chair voliting over themselves is highly unpleasant, but not dangerous. You can avoid a drunk. You cannot avoid someone on coke.
It’s laughable how you dismiss alcohol around the problem of violence and trouble.

Alcohol makes a lot of people angry and lose their inhibitions. Many people can’t handle their drink at all and are pissed after a few drinks. Many football fans travelling to games start on the spirits at 07:00 and act like fucking loud mouth boisterous louts, barging into people looking for trouble an hour into drinking.

Yep

But the real danger and cause of trouble are the fans that bring bags into the stadium that are above the size of an A4 piece of paper, been going on since the hooligan element of the 70s this, if club puts a stop to this its job done for head of security :)

I wonder how much snow they will be able to fit in to an A4 bag !

Okay mate. I think it's better we agree to disagree. Yes, excessive alcohol only causes us to pass out and vomit. I've never met an angry or aggressive drunk.

I find this 'generational' thing, a load of crap.
I have never touched the stuff myself but I have friends that do.
When they take it, I don't want to be around them. They may feel THEY have more confidence, but t doesn't make them any more enjoyable to be around. Probably why people who take coke all take coke together. As it is NOT sociable.
Whereas, someone who doesn't drink can hang about with someone who has had a couple of pints.

Your comment about a bar FULL of people on coke, makes my point.
You're point being what? You don't like to hang about with people that have sniffed loads of coke?
And what? You probably don't like to be around someone that is bladdered, when you're sober, either.
However, his point was about how alcohol is more to blame for aggression.

Lots of interesting points about coke vs alcohol. In my experience, different people react differently to different drugs. I know people who get aggressive & abusive on alcohol, same with coke & ive even known a lad in the past who used to scrap bouncers when pilled up on E’s back in the day, which is the most bizarre response to drugs I’ve ever encountered

I don’t think the blame lies on coke or alcohol, more on people choosing to partake in something that makes them aggressive. Always said that if I was an aggressive drunk, I wouldn’t drink. If you get paranoid after a spliff, don’t smoke weed, if coke inflates your ego that much you get aggressive, don’t do it

People need to find their own drug of choice & bin the ones that turn them into arseholes

I will however state that alcohol lowers your inhibitions, so when doing both coke & drinking, this is a potential recipe for disaster as you can drink all night if you’ve had some coke, so inhibitions get lower & lower meaning people do shit they wouldn’t normally do

This definitely has nothing to do with different generations

Edit: Oh & the coke that’s about nowadays isn’t really coke, so you have no idea what you’re taking or how you’ll react

If you read the bit from my post in italics, that WAS my point. The thread is about fan behaviour of the antisocial kind. Sorry you couldn't see the thread heading nor understand what I wrote.

Remember, somewhat bizarrely, back in the mid/late(?) 80s when a City fan going in the away end at QPR had his bag searched (not sure if it was the regulation A4 size or smaller though?)
the police officer searching him found a knife. The bloke (who didn't really look like your typical 'hooligan') said it was a 'clay sculpting knife'. Hardly a machete but not sure if the 'dibble'(that was an 80s term wasn't it??) was too impressed!!
