Roger Palmer.Scored 2 goals in the same game as Dave Watson in a 3/0 win against Leeds 1978.

You forgot Conlon, Sugrue, Shinton, Ellegaard, Megson, Jo, McIlroy, Buster Phillips, etc, etc........
Where's Mcpointyman or Robert bloody Hopkins?( anyone else remember him?)
Seriously, even though both were only with us for a short period Gerry Gow in the 81 Cup Final season and Andy Morrison in the 'Gillingham' season are both worth a mention.
Neither were the most naturally gifted, but most City fans loved their endeavour, commitment and 'don't fuck with me' attitude!

Lots of fan favourites didn’t have the best technical ability but were loved because of their passion or personality.

Richard Dunne would be in the defence for me. A real shining light in an awful era.

So from the start a goal keeper.

i was too young to see Bert and Mr Swift.

But I saw Corrigan from circa 1970.

Better than clemence
Same as me, and I agree with you on this one. Ray Clemence played behind what always seemed to be a very good defence at Liverpool and didn't look as good when he was at Tottenham.
Big Joe did play behind Watson and Doyle who were both fantastic centre backs but had a fair few donkeys in front of him over the years ,so really had to prove what a good goalie he was.
It really should have been Corrigan and Shilton battling for the yellow (as it was in those days) England Jersey with Clemence as third choice imo.
When Corrigan came back to Maine Road and we beat Brighton 4:0 it was one of the very few times I felt a bit sorry for the opposing keeper!

I take my Corrigan bias from my daddy and grandad, they both
always said clemence doesn't have to play behind our defence week in week out,
a bit like what you just said.
