Always hilarious listening - drunken, lonely, social outcasts, gloating after a win and on the verge of suicide after a loss.
Comedy gold - and certainly better than the Shouting Dogger or (everything that's wrong with modern media presenters) Darren Fletcher - Fletch to his one mate.

Isn't that all of us :-)

Careful what you wish for.

The last time I tuned in was after Crouch scored for Spurs and we'd missed out. Really pissed off in the car to hear some idiots direct from the car park with GMR's roving reporter moaning about City making them move their season ticket seats for the family stand and after 20 years that was it they were never coming again from Ireland to watch us.

I have never forgotten that. I've never been so angry at the radio. He actually opened the interview, when the reporter said something like "how do you feel about City missing the Champions League", with "never mind about that. What about us in the north stand?". I'm sure he had a posh Cheshire accent rather than Irish, though. It was truly pathetic.

There was a guy on last night (might of been the Xmas tree idiot) who said the club needed to put a statement out about Kompany's injury as it is obviously serious!

How long have we known he is on the verge of return?

There was a guy called Barney on last week after we beat Spurs 6-0 saying we need to play the kids rather than the players that were playing! When asked what would make him happy even after beating Spurs 6-0, he genuinely said "We could've played the kids"

Erm....

I heard that cock end too. And a woman whinging about substituting aguero and negredo when it was blatantly obvious they were being rested.

GMR is great, as there is very little after match coverage of utd. However, i agree about some those why phone in. It gives us a laugh on the way home. The Xmas lights guy actually said 'obviously' I didn't go to the match! Comedy gold.

so gleghorn has left gmr!
watch them give it to danny mr city mills!

I'll hazard a guess at Paul Lake

Might be a good choice, but Gleghorn will take some following in that job. He was superb in my view and i'm looking forward to seeing what he does with our lads. With his insight I can see him ending up managing a first team somewhere - maybe us?

I skipped all the previous pages of this thread, but all the posts in it were rubbish, get rid :)

Always cringe at Gleghorn. Last season a guy rang up and asked him why the bloody hell he's being called a city legend after being there for about 30 games, GMR just hung up on him - best piece of radio i've ever heard.

There's more chance of elvis managing city first team than there is of nigel gleghorn.

Got to be a piss take

Gleghorn was superb? Fucking gibbering idiot who couldn't string 2 words together without an er in between. As to his City credentials, his first love is sunderland and his second is sjoke. Never forget coming away from the prickannia stadium after playing sjoke and listening in the car to radio sjoke and gleghorn was slagging us off something rotten, good fucking riddance, horrible twunt

Lakey's done it before I seem to remember but wasn't brilliant. Nowhere near gleghorn's level of analysis. But he does do that 'blue Tuesday' show so would be the obvious choice . From what I've heard of Andy hinchcliffe he'd be better, but I suspect he has other commitments. Struggling to think of other ex-blues trying to get a foothold in the media.

Wouldn't Lake's current job prevent him doing it?

That was rather pathetic.

Another caller was woefully ignorant about current events but I can't remember about which player.

Edit: It was someone that didn't know Nasty was (still) injured.
