Off topic, but i like your nickname. How was it like to travel to Millwall at the Old Den in the 80s? any memories from a game down there? remember we played them at the new den in the 90s when they threw a wrench at our goalie

Might have started with Atkinson and then morphed into Ferguson when he took over!

It was a scary place to visit the Old Den thats for sure. Me and a mate waited for the Special to pull in and decided to walk from the station with the rest of the City fans. We were escorted by more police and dogs than I had ever seen before or since. As we got to the turnstiles, blues were getting randomly attacked as they queued to get in. We had a small corner at one end of the ground but had to walk behind their stand to get there, hence more attacks. We only took about 800-1000 that day but there were no women or kids. 90% were lads aged between 16 and 40.

We won 1-0 with a Tony Adcock goal and after the match were kept in for 45 minutes. Another escort to the station and as we werent on the special we and around 100 others were put on a train back to London Bridge station to make our way back to wherever we came from. Millwall ambushed at London bridge and there was fairly fierce fighting on the platform before the police turned up.

Not a place for the faint hearted thats for sure
