Colin Bell was in a very close friendship group with Alan Oakes,Glynn Pardoe & Mike Doyle.Interesting, isn't it, how all the photos you see of Franny and Colin, whether team or otherwise, they're never actually standing next to each other. There's always at least one person between them, often Buzzer. Just really incompatible temperaments, I think. Didn't stop them from playing brilliantly together, of course.
East stand 3rd tier?
Just talks bollocks nowI don't think it was an outtake. I have the same version and I think it was the only one published. Team photos in those days were more relaxed than they are now. I remember a Millwall pic at that time with Eamonn Dunphy sat on the front row with his left bollock hanging out of his shorts.
Who could but warm to that winning smile (the only winning he did btw!), that oh-so stylish hair-do and that amazing almost miraculous ability to turn a silk purse into a sows ear..!?Love Swales me. His minutes silence was absolutely marvellous. A few years earlier he had been getting absolute dogs abuse. A city legend!
apparently he was in the Guinness Book of Records for scoring 14-trillion goals for Bolton Schoolboys or some such feat... some good goals for us but never quite cut it did he?
Free REIN, if you pleaseHuth and Morgan were given free reign to do that at corners all season
