Sorry got carried away. But for the injury, would have been the greatest ever England player.

I cannot disagree with that statement, I'm just pleased I had the opportunity to see him play, class in a glass!

I think in some cases it's hard to give the nod to just one player, especially over the different eras.

I only saw Colin Bell after his injury, and I was in the USA missing out on Kinkladze.

However, if I had to make my shortlist, it would probably include the likes of

Paul Stewart
Nicky Reid
Brian Kidd
Dennis Tueart
Gerry Gow
SWP

- and even so, there are at least another dozen players (in my time watching City) like club servants such as Tommy Booth and Richard Dunne who shouldn't be left out.

Clive Wilson, a local lad who could play midfield or left back, for 3 or 4 seasons in the early 80`s he was man of the match practically every week.
He should have gone on to play for England but signed for Chelsea and lost his way a little bit.
Fantastic player though with a cultured left foot.

whole hearted and 100% player who never sherked a tackle or let the club down. even thogh he played in the same side as citys' best player king colin I used to love it when he went in full throttle for a fifty fifty and he came away with the ball and the other player was normally left in a heap
