favourite mcfc chant of all time

piffy on a rock bun said:
"We want the dog back"

Crap game at maine road in the 70s,
Dog ran on the pitch & everyone cheered as it evaded capture,
Everyone booed when it was caught,
Game resumed & was just as bad as before,
The kippax start singing "we want the dog back"
Me & my dad still laughed at it over 30 years later.

Those were the days, I penned a Folk Song last year dedicated to those Dogs!

I cant remember what game and when it was, a few years ago probably but we were playin shit and a plastic bag flew on the pitch and a few people started singin ooh aah ooh aah plastic bag it made me piss my sides, typical city humour.

As a young blue it doesn't feel the same singing it but I love :-

We'll drink a drink a drink
To Colin the King the King the King
He's the leader of Man City
He's the greatest inside forward
That the Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorld has ever seen!

Mr Ed (The Stables) said:
I wish this one could be sung in full, and not just the end verse:

My father said to me one day "is it red or blue for you?"
and if it's red you're out the door and I won't see you no more
and then one Saturday afternoon he took me to Moss Side
He said "my son your time has come and this is a lesson in pride"
You see the scum you never run
You stand and fight your ground
and when you've won on derby day
You're sure to hear this sound
Hark now hear
The City sing
United ran away
And we will fight for ever more
Because of Derby day

I wrote that sat on my toilet. I got the idea from my daughters toy that played the tune
"A Sailor went to sea sea sea"

My favourite was a game in the early 70s when QPR came to play, and Stan Bowles (a favourite of mine) was playing for them. His wife had appeared in the tabloids for "playing away" and the Kippax kept singing:

Stanley, Stanley where's your wife?
Stanley, where's your wife?
She's here, she's there, she's every fucking where,
Stanley's wife, Stanley's wife!

This was repeated until, in sheer fury, Stanley 'V' signed the Kippax: cue much laughter and renewed chants of the song! (We won, I think, 4-1; happy days! Well, not for Stanley obviously!). Now Stanley would have got on a charge for 'provoking' the fans by a V sign; then everyone took it good-naturedly, including the ref, who was pissing his sides laughing.

in 1962 my friend were in division 2
the stretford end cried out aloud its the end of the old sky blue
joe mercer came and played the game we went to rotherham
we won 1 nil and we were back into division 1
since then weve won the league
weve won the cup
weve been to europe to
and when we win the league this year we'll sing this song to you
city city city city city (as loud and aggressivley as you like)

love this, love city

We will drink a drink one of my favorites, but I liled the CITY one drawn out and sung for bleedin ages making it go round the ground.
