Fantastic!

I'm a big fan of French films and not just the porn ones!

My favourite film of all time is Cyrano De Bergerac followed by the likes off:

La Haine
A Prophet
Mesrine
La vita e bella
White Ribbon
District 13
District 13 Ultimatium
36
City of God

I could go on all day.So many great films.
Nobody makes better films than the French and Audrey Tautou is perfection.

(As illustrated by my list other countries make good films as well IMO)

Drama: "The Classic"
(South Korea)
Watch (Eng Sub): <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgHh09BlhzI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgHh09BlhzI</a>

Horror: "Shutter"
(Original:Thai, Hollywood remake version: "Shutter")
Watch (Eng Sub): <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHQmYMz_PMw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHQmYMz_PMw</a>

Thriller: "Infernal Affairs - Trilogy"
(Original: Hong Kong, Hollywood remake version: "The Departed" by Martin Scorsese, won Oscar's best picture and several awards, but imo, Infernal Affairs is 10x better than The Daparted!)
Watch (Eng Sub): <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQF0EukkGKw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQF0EukkGKw</a>

Battle Royale Batoru rowaiaru

In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary "Battle Royale" act.

I've just downloaded this, is it Japanese?

it's south korean

it's a touching and sad film.

He's a great director, Ji-woon Kim, he also made a film called ' A Bittersweet Life.' It's a wonderfully made film and i'd suggest it to anyone. Alot on here have been mentioned already. The OP's suggestion of Y tu mama tambien is a good shout. Brilliant film.

For me i'd sayyy:

Mesrine(1&2)
Anything for her
A Prophet
Leon(in English but a French director)
La Haine
Brotherhood of the wolf(tacky but a good watch)

All French but easily up there in my top 10 favourite films.

Old Boy
Tale of two sisters
A Bittersweet life
City of God
Hard Boiled
Rec(Spanish Horror)

So many more that I can't think of right now :)

I'd recommend A Prophet to you lot, absolute class.<br /><br />-- Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:37 pm --<br /><br />

Battle Royale is an absolutely qualify film. My fav though has to be ICHI the Killer, a must for any Asian Film Fan.
