Favourite player?

Paul Lake.
Head and shoulders above everyone else skill wise in Mel Machin's
squad which was the era when I started regularly attending matches.

Not only was he skilful but he got stuck in,was versatile ,playing in every single outfield position for City in the 4 or 5 seasons I saw him play.

Graceful, stylish, fast, and scorer of that incredible last min goal at Blackpool away in the cup ,which led to the most mental celebrations id ever been involved in ,limbs everywhere.

A rare talent indeed,Lake in full flight surging through central midfield with grace is a memory that will live with me forever, despite our more recent success.

Kun Agüero

I don’t think he’s our best ever player (although he is right up there), but he is my favourite ever player.

From his very first game coming on as a sub to score a brace to his very last game for us coming on as a sub to score a brace, and all 256 goals in between. From the near post rockets he gave the keeper no chance with, to the slotted shots just inside the far post, to taking on four and chipping it home, to volleying it in from the edge of the box, to fucking leathering it into the top corner from 30 yards… he scored against everyone he played against bar Bolton and some of those goals are some of the biggest in the club’s history.

I loved his nasty streak that he never let anyone bully him and he knew how to dish it out. I loved it when he squared up to that Copper at Bournemouth, looking after City fans like he was one of our CP Company Casuals after a scrap.

I loved how he wasn’t a diver or a moaning fucker like a lot of Argies.

He never wanted to leave when Barça, Madrid and Juve were sniffing around, he didn’t even want to leave us at the end when we didn’t renew his contract.

To way he represents and supports us still now away from the game. He’s a great lad who I’ve never heard anyone in or out of football ever have a bad word to say about him.

Bloody love the lad!

When I read his biography and see the cheap ass way Swales treated him I was so disappointed. They made fly cattle class to the US for treatment with not enough space for his injured leg.

Francis Henry Lee.

The reason I support City. I met him once, and told him that he was my favourite player.

His response: "Thank you very much!"
I met him too in Bolton in 1971;he was doing the opening ceremony for a shop.He was very gracious and lovely to me and my friend, at the time two star struck 14 year olds. I think I had a copy of my FAB208 magazine which he happily autographed for me, even though it was nothing to do with footy. Top bloke on the day.

At the time it wasn't unusual for footballers to do shop opening ceremonies,I'm told George Best did the honours for the Seafarer chippy in Northwich.

Imagine any of today's players doing anything like that. I mean ffs Chelsea players can't even acknowledge kids who've been waiting to see them.
