My random guess is that Pep will go 3-5-2 on Tuesday, just have a sneaky feeling he will think it’s a game worth keeping tight.

Ederson

Nico
Stones
Laporte

Walker
Dinho
Kev
Merlin
Danilo

Serg
Raz

it's a game worth winning by 3 or 4 so that we can rest players in the home leg amidst a stretch of 2 arsenal games and chelsea at home.

No question we will prioritise this tie and play understrength v Wigan. With the three huge games in a week or so after that which will potentially win Pep his first trophy and push us very near winning the league we will want to not have too much to worry about in the second leg of this tie. And the FA cup will in any view of things be the 4th priority in our situation and with the injuries meaning we cannot overplay the fit players left.

Don’t be so daft, every game is “worth winning by 3 or 4” obviously, it’s just never quite so simple.

well, not when you're selecting teams to keep it tight, clearly they aren't? We go, pick our best team, and hope they do the business, not change shape just to "be tight". The more goals we score on Tuesday the better chance we have in the tie.

Sorry for going off topic, can’t find the thread, any news about PEPs contract extension, I was hoping it would be announced right after PEGs announcement to take the wind out of his sails, just hope he stays for many years to come.. PEP that is

Go big and strong, win this early and rest the big guns after they produce the goods. Would be nice to see Diaz and Foden on the bench too.

Pep willl go all out and try and win by a decent score.

No way will he want us having to go all out full strength in the home-tie after that ridiculously tough week of Arsenal twice and Chelsea at home.

Basle are usually a tough affair for English teams, but with them currently 2nd in the Swiss top flight it makes you wonder if they are at a level below of the standard they have set in the last few years.

After writing it could be an opportunity to rotate, so what are you saying
Would it be easier to understand written like this?

"We could probably get away with rotating in this game and still win, but I can't see Guardiola doing it".

Bravo, Zinchenko, Kompany, Stones, Yaya, Gundo, Diaz.

1-3 to City.

Hope we go all in for the champions league. This could be our year still a bit scared of Psg Bayern and Barca but this year is our best chance yet.

Not scared of any of them. We've come out around level pegging with Bayern every time we've played them, we were a match for Barca last year and we knocked PSG out 2 years ago quite comfortably. On top of that, we're better than we've ever been.
