Why not?No they can't.

Because you enter the competition and agree to abide by the competition rules - one of which states you will be told when to play, not make your own mind up at a time and date convenient to your club / fans. Why not?
If they werent on tv they wouldnt be playing on Monday night. They have a choice.Because you enter the competition and agree to abide by the competition rules - one of which states you will be told when to play, not make your own mind up at a time and date convenient to your club / fans.
If they were not selected for TV they would have played on the Saturday or Sunday (the day depending on if we are at home on one of those days)If they werent on tv they wouldnt be playing on Monday night. They have a choice.
My reading of their statement is that they tried to change the date a "televised" game was on. Which understandably there us less flexibility on.
Don't believe that was the case. They chose to have the game televised. Their alternative was to have the game televised on a different day. If they passed on the tv money they would play on Saturday, but seems to me that wasnt an option they were prepared to consider. If they were not selected for TV they would have played on the Saturday or Sunday (the day depending on if we are at home on one of those days)
But they were selected for TV and were informed they were scheduled for Monday evening. End of. No choice.
Taken from the statement..... the club had no say in the matter....Don't believe that was the case. They chose to have the game televised. I'm struggling to understand what bit you are not clear about. You said further up that ''they (assume you meant FCUM) chose to have the game televised'' but didn't want it on a Monday. Can you expand please.Statement doesnt make it clear they had no say in the matter. It makes it clear the FA wouldnt consider arranging a televised game on another day.
Fairly simple. Say we don't our game to be televised so we can play it on Saturday afternoon like our members want.I'm struggling to understand what bit you are not clear about.
