FC United thread

Here’s the state of the debts as of November 2024. They owe the council at least £900,000. the original £500,000 was due to be repaid in full last year, but not only could they not pay the capital on that loan but they couldn’t pay the interest of the loan which kept building whilst they enjoyed a two year payment holiday.

Thanks to a bucket shake they eventually paid £30,000 back this financial yrar. From July onwards they are committed to paying back £78,000 in the year via monthly direct debits. Where that money is coming from is anyone’s guess as the latest figures showed them making a loss on this year.

The council have been very generous with our money, thanks to the sunken cost fallacy despite them not being able to make repayments on the original loan they lent them more money then payed all the legal fees for the latest refinancing deal & provide senior staff to sit on their board. How many other businesses or sports teams enjoy such support?

In addition they owe their own fans £1.87 million in community shares

Will FCUM be still around in 2036 ? that £900.000 is never going to be repaid because of the running cost and zero profits and losses, I got a great idea ?? Close the fucking thing down and cut your losses

I’ve said this before that I’m surprised the fuckers haven’t thought of going bust, forming a new club - let’s call them FC United 1958 - pick a red kit and a Manchester emblem, and approach the council saying “you know that empty stadium you have in Moston……..?” and start in the North West Counties League again debt free.

Sorry, are we talking about the Moston Red Sox or the Trafford United here?

It would not wash again, would it ?

I agree with the sentiment bud but we are talking about MCC here. This vanity project has become a millstone around the council's neck and they can't afford it to fail. If the bucketeers folded and a suitable tenant could not be sourced then the full running costs of running PP would fall at the feet of the council. Also, do to the restrictive covenant covering the land would prevent it from being sold to housing developers.

It's almost as if the bucketeers are playing the long game here waiting for MCC to quietly write off the outstanding debts. If that were to happen the radio silence from David Conn and the bbc would be deafening!

the whole thing is a joke ? The amount of money that went into building the ground that the people of Moston didn't want by the way, it was all got on false pretense? Money that Moston juniors was given for new changing rooms and improvements handed to these fuckers,

I don't see what the MCC can achieve by giving them lifelines after lifelines, The Numbers don't add up, The fans have all but gone back to big brother and gates are falling all the time, enough is enough, Put up or Shut down,

2036 is a long time to pay back the loans in full, there will be more missed deadlines that will follow and every year it will get worse, They are not even meeting running cost and have to go cap in hand with buckets and asking people for more money ? MCC, THEY ARE DONE stick a fork in and see for yourselves

Are Moston Juniors still going?

Whenever I go passed pallet park I look at that sign and wondered why the hell they chose white lettering rather than the more obvious black letters.

In a rare bit of financial good news for the bucket shakers Bury’s last game of the season will be at pallet park, they played one game in moston last year and had the biggest crowd in the cess pit of the season, despite being in the league below FC bury also dropped out of the Fenix this year to concentrate on actual proper tournaments,
